Will Palmer be as good around here? Or will DAMS save him?

I'm not certain those are the right times (I know that's what the website says). Doesn't the f1 race start at 10.30 gmt?
And it's not like DAMS has "saved" Richelmi. I know that Palmer isn't exactly seen as a superstar but you can't deny that he's been operating at a high level for two seasons now across two teams. I can't think of a driver in a series just below F1 that has strung together a more perfect season than Palmer this year (maybe Liuzzi in F3000?) And it's not like Richelmi is consistently on the podium, so it's not solely the team. |

I think Palmer might get crowned as champion. We'll see how he drives under pressure to finally clinch the title, hopefully it will go down to Abu Dhabi, but Nasr will have to find some more speed. This time he must be on pole winning race 1.

DAMS seems to be the team to beat. If you don't get into a good team in GP2, you are doomed. There are philanthropic positions to procure, as well as relations to nurture.

Surely that's it. Palmer qualifies 4th, Nasr qualifies 10th, and then gets a penalty!
But Vandoorne is on pole (from Pic - who set the exact same time but later in the session, and Izawa!!!). That lad surely has to be adding to the headaches of Ron Dennis! He'll need more than just paracetemol should the Belgian win tomorrow and McLaren realise their practice pace... |

Looks like it's up to me to say it then, well done Jolyon, you can't really argue with how he drove today.

Yes, Vandoorne had his race ruined by the safety car, and Palmer held off Evans for the win, allowing him to win. Nasr had a shocking race and ended 18th. He's now only 10 points ahead of Vandoorne.

Vandoorne was fantastic today, no doubt about that, as the season has gone on he has looked like the class driver in a pretty good field of them.

Hats off to Palmer, don't rate the guy but have to admit he's driven very well this year.
Vandoorne was classy yesterday superb pace lap after lap Nasr's 'what's the point' remark over the radio really got my goat! Tell you what Felipe it was your mistake you didn't get the job done this year. End of. |

Marco Sørensen takes a historic victory in the Sprint Race! With Stoffel Vandoorne and Felipe Nasr in a runner-up fight, Nasr achieved 200 points and Vandoorne is 8 points behind him.
That was an absolutely great race for Marco Sørensen. |

Completely agree, like him or not, rate him or not, Palmer has been every inch the equal of Nasr for the last year and a half, more often than not it has been Nasr who crumbled when it was time to really deliver. The problem for the pair of them is it's Vandoorne who looks like the pick of the bunch. Having said that i do hope Jolyon ends up in F1 next year, it would look very bad indeed if three GP2 champions on the spin missed the boat!

It would look very bad but it would be telling. Vandoorne is the pick of the bunch, but Palmer could fit in at Caterham or Sauber.

The field generally has been average and the driving has illustrated that.
Sorensen's win was timely or what?! Talk about saving your career in one race! Well his backers and Gravity (whatever they're called now) might disagree but he had been having a shocking time with Tech 1 in 3.5 but seemingly continuing to be the driver everyone thought he was in Gp2. Strange one... Gasly did pretty well over thd weekend too on the whole although blotted his copybook by getting sucked into a dogfight with his countrymen and Palmer in the last 2 laps yesterday! |
