IRXC Round 2
It's round 2 of the Irish Rallycross championship this weekend and it looks like it should be a good event - there's the added bonus of seeing Pat Doran in a 6R4 (he was supposed to be using the Fiesta but it's not ready so he's borrowing George Traceys Metro).
Some info here: http://tentenths.com/forum/showthread.php?t=79510 http://tentenths.com/forum/showthread.php?t=79534 Has anyone got a full entry list for this one? |

Cool - and full marks to George for lending Pat the car. Can you imagine that happening in any other motorsport? Alonso saying "Schuey, my Renault's not ready yet, mind if I borrow your spare Ferrari?"

They have finally sorted out problems with rallycross 3, its the one part of the circuit you wish you were running bouncy diesel suspension! However they seemed to have transfered the problem over to rallycross 2 somehow! apparently quiet bumpy now! Weather is a bit unpredicable here at the moment, but going on previous years id say it will be a wet one this weekend! |

202 Ivor Twomey Peugeot 106 GTI/ 1590cc
Is the only super stock hatch so far but I think most will wait for the summer break to look at building a car. There seems to be good interest in the class. I think it will just take for a few cars to be built for the class to take off as at the moment it's a case off everybody waiting to see what others will do. |

Sounds as though it was an interesting days play all round.
Lets hope all the mechanical mishaps can be repaired by the next round on 5th March. Any news on Big Pat? Did he make it? Any Pics in the offing? Full results from someone maybe? |

Supercar final was a cracker. Was a great move by George on Dermot to take the lead door handle to door handle do the straight there was only inches in it but all very fair. Evans was impressive all day and probably would have been the man to beat bar his problems.
Pat Doran struggled with the Metro in the early heats (particullary braking points) but was really getting the hang of it by the time the superfinal came around and got a cracker of a start and lead into the first corner down to the hole in the hedge. Tracey sloted into second and Dermot third. But on the run down to the hole in the hedge Dermot made a late braking move on George but coundn't get stoped in time and collected the back of the 6r4 . The rear wheel of the Metro was torn off and dermot stalled the car, leaving Tracey an easy run to the flag. When Dermot managed to get the car started, he climbed back up to 5th just passing Declan Kelly in his Nova on the line. The Stock Hatch A race went to Derek Tohill's Saxo, ahead of the Peugeot 205s of Eoin Murray and Michael Duke, with two more 205s in the hands of Declan Nolan and Colin Dowling taking the B and C Finals. Interestingly both Tohill and Murray would have appeared in the superfinal but they were not quick enough refuelling their cars and didn't make it to the holding area in time to get out. All the action should be on the T.V. in the next couple weeks. Full results HERE |
