Sir Jackie Stewart Classic
I've not seen a mention of this event as yet. A mini Goodwood festival with a blast up the drive and a big classic show.
https://www.sirjackiestewartclassic.com/ I am entered so will report back. So many efforts to run historic motorsport events in Scotland have failed over the years so it will be interesting to see how this one goes. Last edited by Derwent; 9 Jun 2022 at 08:58. |

Looking forward to going on the Sunday. Have been in the past when it was only the classic car show, which was well attended, hopefully even bigger support with the attraction of Jackie Stewart event.

Ticket bought for Saturday, and if nothing else , it promises to be a lovely early morning drive up the wonderful A68.

The organisation seems a bit mixed. The competitors parking is 600 metres from the paddock. A long way for us oldies to lug our tool boxes!

I was involved in the restoration 5-6 years ago and was lucky enough to run the car @ the FoS.
an acquired taste aesthetically, but a clever design and a good drive. Had a really good chat with Gordon Murray that weekend who was also impressed with its design. Amazing what you can do with a pile of plywood and some Ford Anglia bits. |

Had a very enjoyable time yesterday. Event attended by a huge crowd. Dry weather and sunshine too.

It will be interesting to see what happens next year. The pull of JYS and his cars is still great, he brought in some major firms to have hospitality with lots of well heeled guests. Bringing the cars must have cost a fortune. Would a repeat the same thing still bring the crowds? What would be the alternative.
The logistics of how to get the crowds, competitors, traders and racers in and out has to be addressed. |
