Formula 3 has the upper hand at the moment, with bigger fields, although Formula Holden competes for the Australian Drivers Championship and the CAMS Gold Star. FHolden seems these days to be trying to create an aliance with America, for instance the winner of this years series gets an IRL test, while F3 is the way to go to get to Europe.

I like both.
havent seen a,ot of F3 though but have watched plenty of Formula Holden races and they are awesome machines , would love to have a drive one day. but yes Formula Holden is considered to be Australian Formula 3000 while f3 is of course F3..both have good points and bad points but sadly I feel with our population there isnt enough room for both series to prosper. which one will succeed ??? I dont know but I wish them both well and hopefully they can both survive are form some sort of alliance and become a great stepping stone for Australia's up and coming drivers to propell them into international competition |

I know they are hoping to get larger fields and they are supposedly promising them. But really, I'll believe it when I see it. If things continue as they did last year, then F3 will be taking over the Australian Drivers Championship.

Formula Holden is not really a drivers championship. From what i have seen so far there are a few drivers with talent but the main bulk of the field is made up of rent a drivers. I have seen some ex Formula Nippon cars trailing around the back of the feid against much older cars. They are nowhere near as quick as F3000 and i wouldn't be surprised if F3 takes over as the Australian drivers championship.
