I've just filled my entry form in.
Have we any reason why it's been cancelled?

Blyton Rallycross Super Series event cancelled

It is with regret that Rallycross Promoters Ltd have had to cancel the Rallycross Super Series event (Rallycross Super Series Masters), that was scheduled to take place at Blyton Circuit on Sunday September 18th.

The reasons for this decision is due to the lack of entries received for the event, in addition to the fact that the circuit has failed to put in place the new chicane, in time for the event to take place. All drivers will receive further correspondence in the post. The ADR Motorsport Junior Rallycross Championship will now take place over seven rounds, with the best six points scoring rounds to count.

We've now lost both September meetings, would there have been any chance that when things started looking doubtful that the BRDA & RPL could have got together and at least salvaged one of them to run a combined meeting?

it would seem that, just maybe we should have a little break in the middle of the year so we can all save up again as it used to be. I think a lot of competitors would appreciate this as well as marshalls and spectators.

Too right Barney. But where are the die hard RSS posters on this. Nowhere to be seen,
perhaps they now know this can happen to any series or championship throughout motorsport.Money must be tight for anyone trying to contest both the RSS and the Britih Championship.Lets hope dates next year can be spread across the board. This means working together!!!.

Both the BRDA and RPL have told us that their calendars will be announced at Croft, at each of their meetings. So lets hope they have been working together and give us well spaced out dates, at varied tracks, so we can all plan ahead, and hopefully there will not be as many cancelled meetings or venue changes.

Not a die hard poster , but perhaps the RSS are wiser than people give them credit .
These meetings need to make money or break even ,so if there are'nt entries they make a loss, and we all know what happened earlier in the year when money is tight.

Running an event at a loss is just not an option, it makes no sense whatsoever. Is the problem here that the dates are too close together or are there just too many events? This point was raised at the start of the season but it's worth mentioning again - are there enough drivers out there for the BRDA/RSS/BTRDA to all be sustainable?

Certainly the circuits used need to be looked at - it seems that some circuits struggle for entries no matter whether it's BRDA, RSS or BTRDA whilst others seem to attract decent entries.

winnie has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
The RSS have achieved more than they could have hoped in their first year. They have proved that they can promote a decent meeting and i can only see their future series getting stronger and stronger. The RSS don't need the BRDA, but i think the BRDA may need the RSS in the future. Next year i have heard that the RSS calender will be heading south, which is great news and will put further pressure on the BRDA series.

One of the aims of the RSS must be to get the ERC back to Britain. They have many contacts with the european drivers as is demonstrated by the success of the GP's. When the ERC comes back to Britain it will be the RSS that will promote it.

sounds good to have the ERC back on the mainland and i for one would do what i could to support it but what has happened to all the european drivers attending the RSS meetings ? they just dont seem interested , shame.

Agree, the RSS made a lot of promises like TV, european drivers, prize money etc, which unfortunately did not happen, but i think the intentions were there and the funding wasn't. The european drivers have plenty of meetings that they can attend closer to home without the big expense of ferries etc. Maybee we will see a few next year.
