Ford GT40 (1010)

Does anybody know how I could find out if this chassis still exists or better still is still racing?

My dad was part owner of it for a brief period back in 1970...entered in Daytona 24 and I just found out also the Sebring 12 Hour (entered under Trevor Graham Racing)
I thought it would be nice to try track it down..he's off to the States in January for a month and if it was in the vicinity of Miami I thought he might like to go see it..better still if its in the UK

According to the David Hodges Ford GT40 book, chassis 1010 is listed as being owned by Essex Wire / Peter Sadler / W. Green ( Willie?) / Trevor Graham / B. Poole ( Brian?).
It was wrecked during tyre tests at Oulton in 1966 and rebuilt by Peter Sadler around a new chassis. Later converted for road use.

Ronnie Spain's GT40 bible is about to get a reprint and I understand it will contain fully updated individual chassis histories. I believe it's due in the shops for December.

Only £40 too, which will really get up the nose of anyone who has recently forked out upwards of £120 for the old 1986 edition....

Brilliant - all you need to do now is drop an email to the publisher of VRJ and the trip can be sorted - ps please let us know the result - the site suggests the article/test was by their European editor - maybe the car has come back ?

I contacted the author of the piece direct (Ed McDonough...yes the Sharknose 156 author) and he replied really swiftly.
It seems the car is currently owned by Adrian Newey no less

Amazing the power of the Internet - presumably this confirms the car is back in the UK too ?
