Silverstone National
The countdown has begun. We head to the self-proclaimed "Home of British Motorsport" for the penultimate weekend of racing. Or semifinal if you are American.
Will the slippery BMWs slipstream their way to pole position? Can Dan Cammish break through and beat the Beemers? Will book salesman Jason Plato get a win at last? Can the Team Hard drivers refrain from crashing into each other? Are we due a freak ballast-free maximum boost win from someone? |

Indeed, exciting times. Three races at Silverstone in one day. Hope everyone tunes in for this one.
I wonder if the BMWs will be a bit behind this time. Watch out for Cammish, he is sure to be up there. Question marks still remain over Plato. Watch for plenty of scraps in the midfield from different cars. I reckon we could be in for a shock or two come raceday |

I think the BMWs should be stronger here than at Knockhill, however their straight line speed has been eroded to very middle of the road levels, they are not top of the speed traps in virtually any sector, certainly not in the last few rounds, and tyre life isn't really a factor at Silverstone since its such a low deg circuit. My money would be on a Honda pole of some sort.

I think the works BMWs could be midfield, unlike Knockhill. They are a bit down atm. I reckon we could see the Hondas and Toyota up there and watch out for Jelley’s BMW

Not really a surprise from Tordoff. Wasn't expecting to see him back next year, be interesting to see whether he does now or not. More surprised by Nic's announcement, and good to see that it was his decision rather than to do with losing sponsorship...

not a big loss
Hamilton was the only driver along Rob Smith who didn't score any point anyone noticed at Knockhil he nearly slammed into the leftover wheel, when they all were running slow and that wheel was visible quite early |

Yes, funnily enough I could see the wheel very clearly on my TV scree, especially as the cameras had been trained on it for quite a while. It possibly wasn't so easy to see from the drivers seat when happened upon all of a sudden however...

Actually reading the TCT article if does seem like it's down to sponsorship. Replacement to be announced in a couple of days, and assuming the Shredded Wheat moeny is just for the other Focii, I imagine it'll be a pay driver...?

Looks like my sarcasm was a little too subtle Yea it's going to be a pay driver, honestly have no clue who it could be. Wonder if this is anything to do with the Mat Jackson news...? How does Motorbase stand with the TBL as Hamiltons was on loan from HMS, if they don't run the 3rd car they can't lose the licence?

Or being factual and recognising that some drivers took a wide line, some took a narrow line, and some were driving centrally? Or does that not suit the narrative? |

Mate, that wheel is easily hit. It's black. It's low down. The sun was low in the sky. Their are elevation changes. Your brain is programmed to look for cars, not wheels!
Go and watch NASCAR highlights of Kyle Busch at Vegas running into the back of a slower car. Even big objects can be difficult! |

Right. Jackson Mat in for Sam Tordoff. Bushy ain't got the cash and AmD need him engineering Rory.
Nic H... anyone of several drivers, but I can see Rob Austin getting some race practice if he is serious about returning. |

Have you seen how difficult young Nic finds walking around, never mind driving a Touring Car (which, let's face it are not known for their excellent visibility (even the mighty Jason Plato has been known to not see something simple like his grid position). I bet that you (or I) couldn't get close to the time that Nic Hamilton has done despite all of this. Instead of being negative, just look at what the guy has achieved. |

Jackson will definitely be in one of the cars... He was pictured at AmD a while ago, maybe discussing next year and circumstances have brought him in a bit early?
