Timu, you have got too much time on your hands.
Good to see you putting it to good use though.
Interesting there is such a big gap between Skaife and Lowndes in round wins (relatively), yet so close in race wins.

I think Skaife will be on top for a while yet, if Ambrose is to get on top of that list then he has to hope either that his team stays competitive or he makes the right career moves along the way unlike Craig Lowndes.

Do these records include non-championship rounds, or only championship (ATCC/SCS) races?

Well the relevance of it all is whether the fact that these stats are from 1993 onwards, when Peter brock holds the record for everything except ATCCs won- rounds/race wins, poles. Skaife now is second to Brock on round wins/race wins is he not and poles, followed by Moffat and Johnson?

Nope. Just the rounds that counted for championship points. All 126 so far post group A.

I wouldn't mind seeing the full ATCC version of those records, but im not dedicated or quite nerdy enough to collate all that data!!!

Plus V8SC is the current era, and is a parity formula... it will be easy to update these stats now... with the shootout tally being the most interesting one to watch!!!

It's a pity that one of Longhurst's BMW's didn't get a win in 1993, though he got close at Winton didn't he.

Its a quirk of statistics more than anything else. Skaife raced from 1987 through to 1991 at only one race per round. When Lowndes enterred the series in 1996 there was already three rounds per event making it so much easier to stack up a number of race wins.

TIMU: put VESRIX into your search engine. Admittedly its a couple of years out of date now, but it should provide some of the stats you'd like to see.

There are plans to bring VESRIX back to the cutting edge, along with expendaing it backwards into the Group A era, with records even partly written as far as Group C.

Stay tuned racefans.....

That would be awesome Falc, !!! How bout some Konica series stats mate?

Yeah Vesrix with Groupo A and C would be fantastic, good luck with that because it would be interesting to see how Gibson Motorsport's record stacks up overall with HRT.

Since they raced Godzilla, Commodores and Falcons etc... they started in the eighties aswell through to the green eyed monster in 2001...

Another couple to look for would be DJR, the Holden Dealer team and the JPS BMWs...

But I think the V8 era should be kept seperate on the shear fact that it is the current formula...

Cheers.

This brings up a slightly off-topic point.

When do we assume Gibson Motorsport started. He 'took over' running the factory Nissan's in 1986 from Howard Marsden, but how long before it became 'his' team, as opposed to just running it on behalf on Nissan?

Timu: Konica is already in there - as upto date as the main game stats are. AEC will be included as well. The Calder Sun Pacific races. Basically anything I can get my hands on.

I'd consider 1992 when he started running under the Winfield sponsorship. Seemed to become "Fred's team" then rather than the "Nissan team."

We don't have a Channel 10 in New Zealand Kerri...

Its actually scary because my mother reckons shes gone to three boogie woman (How do you spell sykick? ) and theve all said that her eldest son (me) would soon be overseas with something to do with cars within the next two years...

Sounds alright to me, but it ain't in my plans... HA HA
