Has to be Mr Stroll..
So unaware of his surroundings, he comes barrelling along in his Aramco Ason Martin behind an almost stopped Mr Riccardo in his VCARB… and tried to turn it over like a fried egg. Yet without Mr Stroll there is no Mr Alonso.. So there’s the rub.. |

Lando for me - great drive. But only just. It was Alonso who made this race worth watching.

I think the lack of reactions here and in the race thread sum this race up.

Laaandoooo! A very impressive drive, split the RBs and well ahead of his team-mate.
That was his 15th podium and he still hasn't got a win. It must be becoming somewhat irksome, especially after occasions like Monza '21 where the team-mate he dominated all season lucked into the top spot when McLaren had their 1-2. Also his current team-mate has managed a Sprint win which still eludes Lando. He'll get there though. |

Lando - the safety car helped him but finishing ahead of Perez is a great result. Honourable mentions for Alonso, Hulkenburg and Zhou (it was great to see just how much it meant to him).

Even watching C4 highlights I would say Londo, with a very solid drive. Kudos, as they say, to Alonso.

Very true. A very good comeback from the Sprint and a top job to split the Red Bulls (be careful with saying RB now - that wouldn't have been impressive!), but there is one caveat that I know you've mentioned before in these threads - Pérez lost out at the safety car. Still, he had the pace to hold on and be well ahead at the end, so Norris is very close to getting my Driver of the Grand Prix too, but in the end, just, just, just, I have to give it to Alonso. Maybe not the best strategy, but he had such a good go with it, made moves in fast corners and had what has to be the save of the year so far! |
