Veloqx Fangio Hypercar discussion
https://www.autosport.com/le-mans/ne...ercar/6653444/
This is big news and a well-kept secret! What a project this could be if it comes off. I'm really excited that we have a few environmentally-conscious leaders in a sport who 'get' it and are working towards noisy alternative fuels. Fingers crossed! |

That would be a cool project. From reading that piece my initial reaction went from "yeah right" to "sounds promising".

Veloqx? I've not heard that name since I last played Gran Turismo.
Engines that run on multiple fuels aren't new, but for obvious reasons, they don't make good racing engines. Let's see what Baretzky can do with the idea. |

Glickenhaus' exploits has given me more faith that enthusiastic privateers can still do it, if the right things fall into place.
There's a lot of encouraging parts to this. To rock up to sportscar racing and in the space of three years, win British GT and then finish second overall at Le Mans shows that Sam Li goes hard and then goes home. The other aspect is funding. Li has more money than sense, and he has an awful lot of sense. |

Definitely one to keep an eye - the names are the frame are not generally ones that muck about. Baretzky wouldn't be bothering if he didn't think there was something interesting to achieve. One to watch!

The involvement of Baretzky lends the project considerable weight, I'd say....

Wow, this certainly came out of nowhere. Exciting news, especially the alternative fuel part.

A purple car in the top class at Le Mans? It'll never be allowed!

This is such a left field announcement! Sounds like they wanted to be ready to go sooner, but the WEC deal with Total as sole fuel supplier pushed this till 2025. Although they did mention in the article that they may be on the grid sooner. Just not with the alternative fuel option. I wonder what they would run then? A Glick with their own motor? That would be cool too!

I'm a little confused. Isn't the entire field switching to an alternative fuel next year? And if the Veloqx car is designed to run on a variety of biofuels, why would Total's Chateau d'Octane*, or whatever that's called, be a problem?

Li said that the car of the pictured, was tested at the Bahrain International Circuit with a Ferrari V12 engine.
I wonder if they will be used that V12 with the developments for Biofuel. It would really be great if they use a V12!!!!! |

I suppose that could get the "innovative technology" spot, unless the Mission24 HFC EV gets there first.

There is nothing about this on DSC or S365 yet? Is that because they are still recovering from the weekend, a broken embargo or is this story a red herring?

We ran with it with links to Motorsport.com but await more from the team. I couldn't find much on this running of the Fangio at Bahrain that the PR mentions - no photos, anyone got anything on this? Mariantic |

So... now that there's space again... could it be Veloqx?
