Lydden this Saturday
Those who were wondering about going to Lydden this weekend and are worried about thin grids-I have been told that there is a very good entry in virtually all the races especially the Caterham's and SELOC BMW's...sounds like fun!

I'll be there as normal with the Bill Richards Racing mob, as far as I know both the Mini and the Metro will be racing.
Those bimmers were mad last time out, that'll be worth watching again I hope it's dry this weekend - at the last SEMSEC meeting I got more than a bit wet! |

Baz
Look out for Peter Seldon in the SELOC challenge. He is trying to asses how much real talent he has Cannot be there I'm afraid, but have a good time. PS Can you PM me with instructions on uploading my Snett pics of the 10/10thers there. Ta. |

Last time I said the weather looked good for the weekend it precipitated (at least it began with a "p") like hell.
At the risk of doing so again, the weather forecast looks good for tomorrow - come and join us.... Johnw - I'll try and let you know how Peter Seldon gets on. |

I'm there too. Look out for me on the outside of Paddock with a big video camera. If the last Seloc race at Lydden is anything to go by, I'll be standing a little way back!

This is sounding really good now! Will I get another roll in Autosport? Should be at Snet for the Mini's but need to get a few bits for my car and Sat' morning is my only chance. I presume you'll be on the post exiting Paddock Bend Bacon? Can't beleive Mr.Seldon is doing it either!!

Well I don't know Baz, I think they have decided I cause too much chaos at Paddock so I haven't been there for a while, so we'll see. Will see you at Snet on Sunday then. Looking like we're in for some good racing tomorrow!

What did you think that then ??! Get any snaps Baz ?
An excellent drive from Liam Crilly and despite a heroic effort from Jez Braker, he was very lucky indeed to walk away from that multiple roll. If the car rolled another 10ft, he'd have crossed the finish line! He still got second as the race was red-flagged. |

Who's got pics of the incidents? The BMW multiple roll looked nasty but the driver was remarkble cheerful afterwards. Also, the multi-car accident on the finish line was a car wrecking job. How is Mr Watson?

Brian thinks his Chevette is a total loss, the rear axle was snapped clean in half and the rear suspension has been torn off its mountngs. What makes it worse is the fact that it was his first race of the year - he'd only just got the car back together from it's last incident. Pauls Midget has got a lot of front end damage, the front chassis rails look to have been pushed backwards so there's a fair bit of work to do on that car too. The Cossie that started the whole thing got off lightest by the look of it - looked to be superficial bodywork damage and possibly the radiator? |

Welcome to the forum Jez. Even if it is a little inauspicious.
Well done on second place too. |

Hi Jez - how did you keep so cheerful? - was it the adrenalin? When we got to you as you climbed out the side window I was thinking you'd be pretty p***ed off. As we pulled the somewhat bent bonnet open to check the engine bay one of the other marshals said "careful - don't scrath the paintwork" Well - I think it'll take more than a lick of paint! Is anything salvagable?
Finally though, glad to see you were OK personally. Best wishes for the rebuild. |

I try! managed to get get the engine fired up and just picked up a donor car so now it's all down to getting new legs for the rollcage (one leg has bent a few inches out of shape and presume bending them back would take strength away??? or could one weld up and extra strenthening bar once bent back??? dont want to do anything to lessen its abilities as it did a great job!) a few days off work to be back up and running for july i think huge thanks to the marshals for sorting the mess out!!! they do such a top job - got it all safe and back to paddock in a matter on minutes. |

If I were you I'd go for a complete new cage to be on the safe side, a new seat and belts are probably a good idea too. Glad to hear you're ok - I heard the impact from the paddock!
