rx-guru should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Autocross > Rallycross

Here comes the next Autocross fugitive who will convert to the Rallycross creed. Helmut Wild from Germany, FIA European Autocross Champion 1997, 1998, 2001 and 2006, is joining the ERC with his Division 1 VW Polo T16 4x4 soon. Possibly already in Norway and Sweden.

I like his motorsport motto: "The runner-up is the first looser".

Similar to: "Show me a happy runner-up and you show me a born looser". (Possibly Martin Schanche’s motto…)

He should be quick, he was heading for a place in the finals at the Estering in 2006, with a car that was in Autocross spec, until a start line incident put him out.

I have read about his plans to do a full ERC in 2007. And his plans for a full ERC in 2008. I hope he can finally make it in to rallycross.

I think he originally intended to do Autocross as well as Rallycross side by side, till he eventually realised that RX needs much more than a half-hearted stake. But I guess he has no crocks of gold himself and it is very, very difficult to find decent sponsoring for RX in our country. Especially as he comes from an area where Autocross is known while Rallycross is nothing but a borrowed word.
