Over 70 laps in and still no yellow
Who'd have thought that? |

They'll come up with something to throw a yellow for, surely.
Go Chase! Edit: there it is. Loose wheel from the pits brings out a caution. |

No caution mean a good race or just Michigan at 200 mph?

You know what Xfinity needs? A single syllable name...something like Busch.
Anyway, been busy today and just tuned in. Was there a red flag? |

Just seen a clip of the late crash. Nasty one for Kyle but not sure you can legislate when the wall is so far away from the track.

That wall has claimed many cars over the years. Surprised that there isn't a SAFER there. Probably will be one in the future. Hope Kyle is OK. Didn't look good at all.

My comments in another thread, in another forum are tongue and check. Domestic Violence Busch is out and now one the other Busch sister, one the series biggest draws/polarizing figures, is out of their biggest race. There will be a SAFER barrier on that wall for the July race. Not because its the right thing to do or because drivers are showing displeasure, its because NASCAR doesn't want to look bad. Thanks for beating your dead horse here too. Its so refreshing. |

I know all the pros and cons of having bushwackers in the xfinity
series, but I have been against it for a long time. Maybe this will make the cup regulars think twice. Own the the teams , mentor younger drivers, just focus on cup driving. Can you think of any other cup regulars got hurt this bad in xfinity level series ? |

It's his own fault in my opinion.
He had by far the most aggressive bump drafter all race long. And he did it to a young kid who maybe wasnt so experience and paid the penalty, not everyone is as experienced at that sort of racing as him, and he showed a rather typical lack of patience. I do think these races are a bit of a lottery, the last few laps are so crazy and these constant wrecks might be great for some fans and tv, but you just know its coming after a while, such a shame |

Heard that in an interview with Jody Chitwood -- every square inch will have safer barriers. A little too late to help Kyle Busch. Congrats to Ryan Reed. Good kid, glad to see him get the win!

A compound fracture will take a long time to mend. It will be towards the end of the season, if at all.

ATL Report:
Great weather for the double header. Chilli though at sundown during truck race. You can get all the results at Jayskis. It was your average Atlanta races with long green flag periods. The most exciting part of the race was the last restart and Chase was going from 4th to second on the restart till the back end gave way and he slid sideways to 7th or 8th coming out of 2. I listened in on Jenifer Jo Cobbs radio during the truck race that proved quite entertaining while Matt Crafton whipped the field. Apparently the Cobb pit crew was short on personnel this weekend and would need 2 pit stops to do what most teams do in one. She fought an ill handling truck but managed to bring it home in one piece . Its nice to see lower funded teams out battling for a couple of positions for their own personal victories. Favorite site of the day; Family of 4 walking in the track with 4 dozen Krispy Kremes. Yumyum. |

I use to look forward to every Busch, Nationwide, Xfinity race, just as much as I did the Sprint Cup Series races. But with the increasing numbers of Cup drivers in them, starting back in the late 90s, early 2000s and the few/rare Xfinity regular driver wins, compared to the number of Sprint Cup driver wins, in this series, over the years, I have lost most of my interest and desire to watch it. I had a "rejuvenation of sorts, last year, with Chase Elliott competing and winning the championship and I'll watch the Xfinity races, this year, for the same reason, to see Chase defend his championship. But next year, when he goes to Cup, full time, I will again lose interest and stop watching this series altogether. I don't care anything about watching Sprint Cup Lite/Weekly Sprint Cup Driver Benefit Race Series! I'll find better things to do with my Saturdays, like riding my Harley more often! The SINGLE good thing I will say about this series, I like the look of the cars that they are running this year, as opposed to the last couple of season's cars! Other than that, nothing else!
