CSCC Croft Finals 2023
Had a trip to Croft on Saturday for the CSCC and Croft's final race meeting of the season. it was a great race card with a massive range of entries from Hillman Imp's, 993 RSR, M4 Coupe GT4 to old school Morgans.
Here's my trackside vid for anyone who interestered: https://youtu.be/zZ978wLeq0c |

Many thanks for sharing, looks like a great event. Impressed that that top four in Swinging Sixties Group 1 were less than four seconds apart after a forty minute race.

It was a good meeting generally, although the first race finished under the Safety Car, and the Swinging 60s group 1 race started with two Safety Car Laps, which caused some confusion leading to two cars being penalised for pitting outside of the pit window - a penalty later rescinded - and finished with a Red Flag, albeit virtually at full distance.
Then the start line lights went AWOL, causing a false start, but that was quickly resolved with the Union Flag being called into play! Tin Tops looked to be a slam-dunk fro Adam Brown's flying Fiesta, pulling out an 18 second lead before his pit-stop in an attempt to offset his 30 second success penalty, and looking likely to overcome the rest of it before mechanical woes brought his race to an end. A brief Code 60 in the Future Classics/Modern Classics/Swinging 60s group 2 race gave some advantage to those who hadn't pit-stopped early, but there was some really good racing after an early melee at the chicane caused a few people to be out of place. Our Paul D brought his BMW 325 out for the first time since last September, and had a good run to finish 12th, despite being an early pit-stopper who arguably lost out to the Code 60. Overall a good finish to CSCC's season, with beautiful sunshine despite a cold wind...although we sighted a rainbow just to the South-East mid-afternoon, which gave some concern. All was well, though - drivers having more issues with the setting sun towards the end of the day. Oh - and thanks Geordiecraig for the video - we were watching from the grandstand so good to see some different angles! Last edited by Lancsbreaker; 15 Oct 2023 at 19:23. |
