2004 Paris - Dakar
The 2004 Paris - Dakar Raid starts in a few days.
Anyone have any predictions, who will win in each of the 3 sections (cars/bikes/trucks), where will the raid be won and lost etc etc This looks like being one of the best Paris-Dakar's in years, should be a beauty to watch. |

I think that the Daker might get quite a lot coverage in the press, here in the UK. I hope Colin does well.

Mine too -- although it will be shown at 6:00 p.m. this year so as not to interfere with the NA$CAR coverage I suppose.....
I doubt if Roma will win the bikes; he's always doing something daft which makes him exciting to watch but not a stayer. I picked the winner last year in the cars although right up til the last day it was not looking good. I'm going to think about it and get back to you. I love the Dakar and can't wait til it starts again! |

Richard Sainct in the Bikes for me (I cheered for him last year too).
I can't find an entry list on the Dakar site. Is there one? |

Is Serviá related to ChampCar refugee Oriol Serviá?
Colin's got off to a respectable start, but no more. The British press have predictably overhyped his early form. |

He's in one of those Schlesser buggies, right? How are the bikes doing?
And didn't we get an hour coverage every night last year? Now we are getting only 1/2 hour from 6:30 to 7:00 p.m. |

Sainct is dragging his French bum so far, but it's a long race to go and he may perk up. I haven't heard anything about Roma yet -- usually they are trumpeting him like Paul Paige did Mikey before they both jumped ship.

It's good to see a non-KTM bike at #1.
