You're not seriously contemplating shoehorning it into your Stilletto are you??!!

That's an engine with some serious UK club history, although I find it difficult to believe the starting reserve price is only £210??? Am I missing something?

I can remember a certain Jonathan Buncombe in the old special saloon days using an imp bodied Chevron B21 complete with cossie 2lt" FVD" that gave Gerry a bit of a scare ! I can't remember who built the engine but I think it was a prototype that Cosworth were going to produce but shelved it .

Probably yet another ebay scam, I was watching it and it was just pulled, I must admit the seller had no form and there were no pictures so I was a bit suspicious.

For it to disappear it would have to be pulled by ebay themselves, I think. They probably thought it was mis-advertised, or had the word swap hidden in the wording somewhere; basically it broke one of the umpteen idiot rules they brought in instead of spending time catching real scammers.

If you swap they don't get their cut, I think thats understandable they are not doing it for fun are they.

Absolutely agree, but having had issues on there (as both buyer and seller) and getting no joy from ebay, when they've bothered to respond at all, they have zero sympathy from me.

Yeah I do not what you mean, may mate was scammed with a timed out Beta copy of Windows Vista recently and they were not at all helpful. Buyer beware on FleaBay!

Yes he is still alive and well and an active member of the BRDC , I passed the news of his old engine on to a friend who knows him well to pass on the details.

Perhaps if we still had some high profile Super Saloon Car racing ...........!!!

He wasn't really involved in Thundersaloons was he? Its a shame, like Andy Barton and others, they just seem to lose interest and retire!

I hope I die peacefully after a full racing career lasting till that day!

That engine was used in Mick's Skoda not in the Beetle.

The engine was in mick's old bmw m1 being driven by then owner dave shepperd at brands when it dropped a valve.I was there.I believe it was sold minus the body and engine to be converted back to f5000. Dave bought a lot off arrows stuff to built it back up with a new chassis with the seat to one side but this possibly did not happen as last year on ebay the engine was for sale as well as the suspension, wheels, gearbox, body etc etc.

RWhy doesn't Mick Hill still race

Going back to why Mick doesn't still race, firstly he became a very very successful businessman and didn't have the time and probably more importantly he had a heart transplant in about 1996 and I'm sure there's probably something in the MSA license laws about not being deemed fit, even if it meant he was fifty times fitter than before!!
Funnily enough Gerry Marshall and Mick were in Harefield at the same time (Gerry having his quadruple bypass) and actually became very friendly, which they certainly weren't in the '70s!!
