Which car will win this years event?

If no bop changes are made from the test day, then it looks like it's BMW's to lose.

Not sure who will win, but the single tire compound in GT3 will be interesting if the weather is cold. Getting tire temp at night could be an issue.

I should have paid more attention, but I didn’t realise the GT3 cars would be quite a bit slower than last year.

On DSC there were questions about if this was the true pace, but some quotes from Gatting suggesting the cars have been slowed too much in ACO spec

Undoubtedly lap times will fall over the week. They do every year. Last year was nearly 4s from test to pole.

They were cycling through the drivers on test day as they need to and you need to run through a program for the car. Throw in the one red flag and losing the last few minutes when people started to put purples in and it isn’t going to help times.

We might have a few cars that don’t get under the four minute mark before race day, but generally they’ll find a few seconds.

FWIW GT3 was 3.3s slower than GTE in Spa qualifying. I didn’t really look at conditions v. 2023, but proportionally that is about the same as the difference at Le Mans.

I went with BMW because I’d like to see Rossi win.
However I find it impossible to have any real interest in WEC GT3 because of its Am nature.Would much prefer if they had the same driver classification rules as LMP2 with a sub class for teams that include bronze drivers.

I wonder if Le Mans is a good track for Gt3. Due to the nature of the category and to make the field competitive some cars have more aero and others more top speed through BOP to get to a similar lap time - one example the R8 was always fast in corners but rarely had best top speed and the Bentley was less so in corners but made up for it on top speed
But Le Mans with the emphasis on top speed I just wonder if we will end up with the cars aimed more towards top speed gapping the others over the race distance
