Plum Pudding Meeting Mallory Park

Just a quick reminder to anyone who is considering doing the Plum Pudding Meeting at Mallory this year. So far, we have a massive entry of 7 Caterhams and NO single seaters!

The format will be similar to last year - i.e the grid for the first race will be drawn out of a hat (Santa's presumably!) and the grid for the second race will be the reverse of the result for the first race.

Please, people, don't let us down, get your entries in soon so that the car races can go ahead. All details can be found on the BARC website under Midlands Region.

Will marshals be required Sheila as nothing has been said yet?

I would imagine marshals would be needed, but I'm not sure if that is all done through New Era, who organise the bike part of the meeting.

Last year we volunteered through New Era, but if I remember correctly we could have done it through either club.

Dave, if you wish to marshal the Plum Pudding meeting you can volunteer through BARC in the usual way or, if you prefer, you can volunteer through New Era. Whichever way you choose is fine by us, as you will be fitted in wherever both clubs (acting jointly) need you to be.

Last year, we found that we had a wonderful mix of "bike" and "car" marshals on each of the posts and I believe fun was had by all! Chocolate bars and cans of soft drinks were provided for everyone as usual.

Are there any plans to open the Caterham-only races to other kit cars or have any open saloon/sports race?

How many laps are the races?

With regards to the Caterhams, not as far as I know but I'm going to the BARC Midlands Sprint at Curborough tomorrow so I'll check and get back to you. As regards other saloons, the answer is no. We are only having races for Caterhams and Single Seaters up to 2.5 litres, same as last year.

Can't remember how many laps we had last year but I'm sure Mr Sowman will have the answer!

So you'll be coming back this year for more of the same, then?
