Renault Championship contender next season?
Next season's Renault will be finished next week. They plan to test it in November. I wonder how good they will race next year ? They have been finishing in the points the last couple of races. The only thing is they should of kept Jenson Button They still use the 111 V Degree engine.

Agree on keeping Jenson, but that won't line Flav's pockets, will it! |

Renault have come on in leaps and bounds. They started this season with points in 6 of the first 9 races. Things haven't remained the same though, except Monza where they got a 4th and 5th. They have the best launch control on the grid without a doubt and if they can get the race engine to be as good as this then they'll be challenging for 2nd place for sure - '03 of course!

It was posted in another thread that they would change certain parts in the engine but not the V degree angle.

They won't be contenders either way, not without Button.

Jarno Trulli has been much more impressive on raceday in the last two meetings, but I'm sure Button hasn't been getting the same technical help as Trulli for a long time. Alonso could be the right driver to make the difference though, especially as he comes in with a year of experience of the team, the car and the management structure

I see Renault having a few podium finishes next year but no more than that.
