Brands 7th ,Thanks
Just a quick note to say thanks to the "orange brigade" for putting up with the gathering gloom today. Sorry the saloons were a bit thin on the ground, but hopefully it looked better than it could have been. The late decision to run them, plus the rather expensive fee, did put a lot of drivers off. Rest assured a much better turnout will definately appear on the 20th, including five French drivers with assorted V6 and V8 macines! See you all there (just got to get rid of this stinking cold and sore throat).

I think the turnout in the Saloon race, mirrors the general poor turnout in saloon racing in the UK this year compared to last.
When we went to enter these raves in 2003 they were over subscribbed, although as Rod pointed out this year seemed a lot more expensive. |

I have to say that the race for 2nd, 3rd and 4th in the final race of the day (won by Rod) was pretty good! Nose to tail the whole race.

I was racing in the Alfa race and would have done the saloon race, except I cant afford another £165 on top of the £275 entry fee I had already paid for the Alfa race. It really is about time the clubs wake up and take a hard look at their entry fee policy and apply sensible discounts for people doing more than one race in a day. Buy one, get one free would be good!

The 2 Alfa races were pretty good, as usual. Nice to see some decent grid sizes there Soper! Also, I noite that almost all the Alfa drivers gave us a wave on the slowing down lap, cheers guys.

Yep, many thanks to all the marshalls that were at Brands this weekend on behalf of the jedi drivers. The weather held off apart from a drizzle on the Sat and we had great fun.
Three great races, with my best result of the year (4th), unfortunately I was on route for 4th again in the last race, but my engine decided it had enough and I pulled off before it went bang. Roll on next season. Last edited by ActiveMS; 8 Nov 2004 at 10:34. |

Yes, another big thank you to all the Marshal's who had quite a lot to deal with from our two Alfa class E and F races!
Going around Druids with the flash of photography was a new experience - I actually found myself wondering who they were taking picture of! Thanks chaps (and chap-esses) - hope to see you all out and about next season. #34 - Pipped by 500ths of a second |

Thanks Stephen! - Been lurking and reading since the Alfa race at Brands last year, (the great oil spillage at Druids), but will be posting more in the future.

Ahhh I remember it well from the prolonged thread, especially as I was the Observer on Post 5 that day. As it turns out I was the Observer on Post 6 last weekend so kept a close eye on the track. Funnily enough I was trying to think of the user names of the guys from back then so I could say hello at lunchtime, but as you know, lunch was cancelled rather early on thanks to a few errant FPA's in my gravel trap!

Which post is #6 - Is that the exit of Druids or at the bottom of Graham Hill?
In the E/F race on Sunday I was running around 5th/6th in the black 33 (#34) in VERY close proximity to the black 75 (#42), which included descending most of Paddock Hill sideways at one point - Scary! |

Post 6 is the exit to Druids so I saw the sideways down Graham Hill bit first hand
