History of Brabham sought

I have a 1967 Brabham BT21B single seater that was imported from the US about 15 years ago. Does anyone have any contacts that could help me delve into my cars history? The HSCC in the UK generally have info but they can only verfiy it was a Formula B car and came from the States. Yr help appreciated! Thanks Jenny

Yes, it is chassis no 5. The basic history is that is was supplied new in 1968 (not 67!) to Fred Opert for P Knoll with SCA 50303. (The engine is not with the car now however.)It came to the UK in '88 when my late husband bought it from a well known dealer in the UK.

Have now checked my records and, sorry, can't help. Fred Opert probably sold literally hundreds of small British single-seaters in the US about that time. Many were second-hand but he may have been a/the official Brabham importer by 1967/68.

Try Ted Walker, of the Brabham Register, at ted@ferret1.co.uk.

Jenny, I lost my link that would have helped. However the people at:
www.nvo.com/brabhams
can probably help or steer you to who can.

if you want any info on brabhams go to http://www.nvo.com/brabhams and there is sure to be somebody who can help. Also one person you will find on that site, Nereo Dizane, is very knowledgeable about Brabhams.
Good Luck

Neat car, Strad, will talk to you more another time. Things on my mind, read on.

Have to say it. Need your help. We lost a good friend on Monday night, Chris Clark, in a mysterious (police word not ours) motorbike accident, involving a fatal hit and run by a 4x4 at Midhurst, WSx. Chris was a great guy who worked in our motorsport business and lived, partied and raced with us. Never took chances and rode 1000s of miles on his bright yellow Daytona. Such a waste of a life - only 25.

So if you hear of anything regarding repairs to a 4x4 in the next few days in the south east, gossip, etc please let us know so we can pass the info on and catch the callous ****er who left him there. How can another human being do that? Spread the word. So stunned...

Jenny, that's a truly dreadful piece of news. Please accept my sympathy.

It takes a special kind of swine to leave someone when they know they've hit them. I sincerely hope the police catch him soon, and that the punishment will be all the way.

I'll be looking at any damaged 4x4s I come across in my travels very carefully.
