Frentzen's status
Heinz-Harald Frentzen's status after the crash in the DTM at Hockenheim today is apparently okay, he was unconscious initially at the scene but was flown to hospital complaining of back pain - they've found no fractures or spinal injury thankfully.
You may get more out of these sources than me if you can speak German: http://www.sport1.de/coremedia/gener...ash_20mel.html http://www.f1total.com/splitter/2005/10/05102304.shtml News on this is very hard to find! The crash was not shown of course, but from the visible damage it was clearly a full on rear collision, as the back of his Vectra was completely wrecked, although the car was sitting sideways next to the tyre wall. |

I hope the reason for the crash not being shown is that it wasn't caught on camera. I have a utter disgust for motorsport governing bodies censoring and trying to cover up accidents in order to "shelter" us fans from the reality that the sport can be dangerous. NASCAR frequently does it in these days with their one-hour recaps (which I THANKFULLY don't have to put up with anymore), as well as the STCC, and I think it's absolutely pathetic.
