....that is the question on the latest ten-tenths poll. I've found that my answer would be no. This is only because he seems to be doing a good job for the rest of the automotive industry (especially in areas of safety). However I do believe that being head of the FIA shouldn't automatically put him in charge of F1, that should be down to someone specific to that industry. Somebody involved in F1, or at least some form of motor racing who can work with the constructors, but not for them. At the moment power is yielded by Max, who seems to have very strange ideas about what F1 should be (grooved tyres, narrow cars, F1 as a high speed soap, fans don't want overtaking as its too confusing (?????!!!!)) and Bernie, who earns alot of money from it. Where does Max get his ideas from? Is he working on the understanding that TV ratings show him to be right? IMO F1 is as popular as it is in spite of the current regulations, not because of them.
So my answer to the question is : No, Max Mosley shouldn't be replaced as head of the FIA, but he should keep his hands off F1. Any ideas as to who could do a job for F1? |

Ken Tyrrel. Max should go because (1) he is a syncophant suckup to Bernie, and (2) he is only staying on because he knows it really annoys the racing teams, individually and collectively.
However, if it were a choice between Max and Ron Dennis, I think I would have a hard time answering this question. |

Ken's getting on a bit, let him retire in peace. I'm sure he can get free tickets etc when HE wants to go racing. Not when Bernie wants him to go. How about Johnny Herbert ?? out of work at the moment, loads of races incl a few wins. A couple of big crashes and not to afraid of speaking out. Popular in the padock and known by racing fans. ???????? SL |
