Interesting stuff - obviously we can't draw a huge amount into it, unless the rest of the weekend is wet.

Impresive stuff from Burt on his return, comfortably outpacing his team-mates, and in fact he's the 3rd-fastest Vauxhall runner.

As expected, Hairuman is miles off the pace. It's frsutrating to see him in the car when he clearly isn't ready (and I'm not convinced he ever will be) when so many great drivers are sitting it out.

The SEAT looks good in the wet, and Keen did quite well in the BMW, as you'd expect.

Look at Burt go! With little time in the car he is already that quick, makes you wonder what the other guys are doing.

What did someone say...Plato fast considering an extra 25kg?

Surprising and very weird session.

What's happen to Ried he was flying this morning. Plato on pole wasn't expecting that, looks like we might be in for an interesting race 1 tomorrow morning, better go off and get my stuff sorted out.

Actually, considering this, Plato's performance is pretty amazing!

Quote:
Jason Plato and the Seat Sport UK team have been force to replace the former champion’s Toledo Cupra after just two meetings. The chassis, numbered 007, proved too badly damaged in the startline shunt at Brands to warrant repair. “You could say James Bond’s in hospital undergoing major surgery, but he will be rebuilt”, said Plato.”

The new chassis adds to the Silverstone unknowns for Seat Sport UK, who enter the weekend not having tested at the circuit and without any set-up data. There is also the additional 25kg of ballast to contend with, after Alan Gow and the Toca team reduced the weight advantage enjoyed by the ETCC-spec machines.

Plato's qually lap was the last lap of the whole session, when the track would be at it's dryest, so should we read into that time as 'pure' pace ?

Plus, don't forget three DNF's at Brands should make him the lightest car on the grid shouldn't it?

Still...fair play to him...he said he's not concentrating on the championship this year, he's just out for wins!

Hope he gets one!

Some good fights, some bad. Looking forward to race two - Neal, Muller, PLato & Thompson in the mid-field should be good.

Burt vs Huff from the start - I think GA might be up for it's first win (from Burt OR Breeze)

Plato's pole was largely down to him being out on the track at exactly the right time. It had been raining, and the track was drying. The last man on a lap was likely to be fastest...

Race 2 was fantastic.....amazing racing, and fantastic viewing!

And clean to, for the most part...that should teach other series that reverse grid races don't have to end in carnage!
