Robbie Kerr News?
Was just wondering if anyone had any news on the boys plans for 2004? I remember someone on here a couple of weeks ago talking about an announcement but I've heard nothing! Please don't say things have gone balls up at the last minute! This kid deserves a break, he achieved great things two years back and deserves a go at making it to the big time.

Press Release.
For immediate release. Motorsport: Robbie Kerr. 2002 British Formula 3 Champion Robbie Kerr has just completed a successful two day test with Italian Team Victory engineering in their Formula Renault V6 Eurocup car. It was a test of firsts for Kerr, first time at the impressive Paul Ricard track, first time in a Renault V6 car, first time using carbon brakes, paddle shift and hand clutch. Working steadily on the car set-up, when Robbie stepped out of the car at lunchtime Thursday he was in second place, just four thousandths slower than the quickest car. Robbie said “The team had a prior commitment to run Jaime Melo in the afternoon session, so I could have made some improvement in times during the afternoon, but I feel very happy with my work with the team and the progress with the car, Victory could certainly challenge for the championship” Giorgio Piccolo, Victory team manager stated “Robbie was very good to work with, we had good feedback between Robbie and the engineer, and each change seemed to improve the car. We feel that Victory and Robbie can work well towards the championship and would like to come to an agreement with him” The 18 hours of live pan-European TV coverage for the championship provides an impressive platform for Robbie’s sponsors, which linked to the superb Renault hospitality, and the list of top class venues visited make a compelling case for becoming a partner of this talented young driver. Ends. |

Robbie's definitely good news.
The field in FRV6 isn't too hot - he could clean up. |

Kerr is 99% confirmed by Victory in F.Renault V6. Two weeks ago, Jaime Melo received a call from Victory for testing the car and the team said that the brazilian was 99% in the team. Now the context is that Melo probably is out: Kerr did a good job in PaulRicard, and the team is very happy to keep Robbie! Melo is now talking with ChampCar team and also with a FIA GT top-team.

Melo's always been overated, Robbies the real deal! Watch him give Jani a good spanking and then see some teams in the big league sit up and take note!
