CAMS Track Licences Blunder again ?

I suppose we all remember this time last year with the CAMS Track Licences issue with Queensland Raceway & Winton that saw CAMS activities held up at these two venues until early February. Well it seems that this year we will face the same problem across all Australian race circuits.

As of Today (xmas day) No Australia race circuit has yet received a renewal of their CAMS track licences for 2005. CAMS are significantly changing the licences system and it seems that some race circuits may go uninsured for some activities until the Track licences is ratified.

Last years problem with Winton & Queensland raceway was they did not receive their Track licences proposal until Christmas Eve 03, whilst other race circuits received theirs in early December.

The fact that all race circuits have not received the licences renewal could suggest that CAMS have changed it in such a manner that they believe circuits to be so dissatisfied with the changes that the will not receive the licences until the circuits need it to undertake circuit activities and they have no choice but to execute the track licences.

We could see a situation where no motorsport activity will be taking place in Australia in early January, except for the AASA circuits of course who have their own insurance cover.

1200Datto27 has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
They also posted the 2003 permit fees on their website during the week, after not having anything there for a while. Makes it hard to plan a calender when this happens.
