Big Thank you ,Oulton June 12th
Thanks to all the Marshals,F.F.Drivers and other volunteers that came along to help man the International Circuit. We even had a Pilot that gave up his day off!!
Thankfully there was not much to deal with ,but I know from the other thread how much the F.F. drivers enjoyed thier day on the bank. As for the 'Formula woman' race... Talk about Mazda's Zoom,Zoom,Zoom... all I saw was the lack of oom, oom, ooom leaving just the zzzzzz,s. The most exciting part happend over lunch , when one driver got very upset about the Rescue guys looking over the car!! Talk about handbags at dawn...One Barbie out of the window.. Enough already.. Thank you one and all, please come this side again you will be made very welcom. I am sure Alistair will add his thanks later. Cheers Nadine and Ian Lewis (Incident sign on) |

Ian - not much to deal with? Three FPa's with tyre wall rebuilds, two Mini's. Forget pork pies, David Murphy's a bigger car magnet! (see one on the other thread)
A good day and I think we all enjoyed it. |

I think we did. It's a good job David's a fell runner as he was running with extinguishers up and down the central barrier.

Well you did beat me too it Ian !!
What did start off some time ago on paper to look like a disaster from the marshalling side it turned out to be an adequately manned meeting. Thanks to all those who turned up to help the centre out it very much appreciated and made our job from an organisional side much easier know we were reasonably well covered. A special thanks to Nadine & Ian Lewis, Andy Holley & Mike Cadwallader who with some creative thinking manned it so well with so few. The Champion Of Oulton Formula Ford people who attended from what I have heard did enjoy themselves and may have learnt some things and maybe the marshals they were with did to. They are most welcome any time, so are any other drivers from any other disciplines Thanks to Ian Smith and Mike Waite for flagging from what I hear did an excellent job too. But most of all thanks to the unsung heroes THE MARSHALS who went about there duties in the usual highly professional way they conduct themselves and to what has become the norm from those who attend Oulton Park. It is good to know in Race Control we have such a high standard that we can rely on. Glad the weather was good too!! Thanks again Alistair Garrett & Margaret Simpson Chief Marshals BRSCC North West Centre |

Alistair,
you seem to have far too much fun driving the course car!!!! Maybe the BRSCC should charge you £165 for your entry for all the laps you do!!! |

He's nowhere near as fast as Andy Brewer though. I can't remember how many times I nearly blue flagged the last couple of cars on their slowing down laps with the Lodge Corner Crossing Bluebell Beemer bearing down on them at the kind of speed some of the drivers could only dream of.

He usually gets it through Fosters without spinning/crashing. Now with Andy Brewer it's ONLY A MATTER OF TIME before he finds that patch of oil at Druids and ends up having a picnic in the trees! |

The course car was on the closing down lap, approaching Lodge when the crossing car took off without looking. They missed each other by a coat of paint. Perhaps he should return that new BMW as the indicators and mirrors don't work. Ian |

The gang I was with at 'The Avenue' were a fine bunch, somewhat idiocyncratic it has to be said, they made me feel really welcome and didn't make me carry anything heavy. They apologised for the poor racing.. Minis excepted and agreed that they missed FF1600. The lasting impression I have, apart from it being a long day on your feet is that in the event of me damaging myself in the future I will be in good hands. |

You shouldn't be on TT at the present time. I have an 'A' Board to pick up from you this afternoon. |
