Will Davison
As we get no news of Brit FRenault down under, I was wondering what those of you who get to watch it think of Will Davison, especially considering his rookie status.
How's he going so far this year? Is he improving? Do you folks reckon he's got the potential I saw in Aus FFord last year? |

He started slowly but is gaining confidence now - time is on his side

Thanks Mr Jinxx.
Any more opinions, as I have absolutely no idea - we get bugger all coverage here. |

Mac: pick up a copy of Australia's Motorsport News - apparently there are pictures and reports of his every race.
Also visit the official website www.renaultsport.co.uk for race reports and plus its image gallery - the image of him from Brands on three wheels is cool. There are a couple of good ones of him getting ready for battle at Thruxton, too. Doesn't CAMS have a website - it is supporting him, after all! Will is doing just bloomin marvellous! Drove a stormer at Brands Hatch to finish seventh and then got embroiled in a mega scrap with five other guys at Oulton Park. Finished fifth but a 10sec penalty for straightlining a chicane (wheels all locked up and straight on while battling for position) dropped him to sixth. At Thruxton he was just sensational. Second on the grid for his first race at a circuit which still strikes fear into those who have raced on it many times. Ran third right behind his team mate Robert Bell and erstwhile championship leader Danny Watts for much of the race. Then got wheelbanged down to fourth by Mark McLoughlin and, out of rhythm, further demoted to fifth by Lewis Hamilton. The sickener for him was Bell and Watts were later excluded - had he held third he would have inherited the win! Whatever, he's now fourth in the championship and very much in the hunt for the title. On top of that, absolutely top bloke. Can't wait to see how he goes when they race again at Thruxton in mid-June. Next race is at Silverstone (2/3 June) - his 'local' track as he's now living in nearby Buckingham, sharing a place with Courtney. So there. |

Well said, Jonny. He is a top bloke, more pictures and race reports are available at my site, www.singleseaters.co.uk
When he was entering the FFord Festival last year, a lot of Australians said watch out for him, he's good, and I do think he's showing that potential. He's currently 4th in the championship, 2nd highest rookie, 2 points behind Lewis Hamilton. As Jonny said, he was very impressive at Thruxton, I think he's a driver who will improve through the year. |
