Nurburgring Race Day

Juan Pablo is very slow in the warm up this morning again ,He is in 17th place and 3.3 secs off the fastest time , i would normally be concerned , but this often seems to be the case , so maybe its not a big drama for him although he didnt look to pleased when he got out the car .

Everyone seems to be talking about a first corner pile up , afterall it only takes one driver to break very late at the first corner and end up taking out 4 or 5 cars .

Well, the Willies are usually slow in the warm-up session; they usually do some tyre-scrubbing. What's worrying for Pablo (he had problems at his car) is that he only managed to do 5 laps as opposed to 12-14 as everyone else.

The times from the morning session are quite interesting. I'd say that Arrows, Jordans and BARs are on 2 stoppers; same might apply to Ferrari. I mean you gotta hope for that, because 1.5 seconds faster than Macs on the same strategy definitelly does not look good. (I mean yes it does. To ME!) Here are the full results:

If yesterday's F3000 race is anything to go by, this could be a very exciting race. The new layout means that the first corner is in reality a hairpin. It should provide for some excellent overtaking opportunities later in the race, but could be a problem on the first lap. There was no first lap pile-up in yesterday's F3000 race though, thankfully. Let's hope for a good clean start and everyone safe through the first corner.

JPM's problems are worrying though.

Yep, I agree. I already love the first corner and I didn't even see the quals on TV. I also don't think of a first corner pile-up. It's far enough of the startline; by that time they already had enough time to sort the things out or calm the adrenaline.

Yeah, Webber's efforts in the Minardi are commendable.
