Any reason Coyne and Gibson aren't on the list? Are they not out this year? |

yeap but gibson will return in his Metro 6R4 which is slightly underpowered these days. Gibbo was starting to struggle a bit last year, but the four mentioned should be the class of the field. Holfeld is returning in the ex John Haffey machine, so should have a lot of potential. Expect grids in the supercar class to be 15+ for this year. Mike Coyne should return in his Escort
Here is a list of expected competitors in the supercar class: Will Gollop Ford Focus Lawrence Gibson Metro 6R4 Terry Briggs Metro 6R4 Steve Mundy Ford Focus Adrian Horsley Ford Focus Andy Grant Ford Escort WRC Dermot Carnegie Ford Focus Pat Doran Ford RS200 Tony Bell Toyota Corrolla John McClusky Peugeot 306 T16 Helmut Holfeld Ford Escort Mike Manning Ford Escort Mike Coyne Ford Escort Dan Donoghue Metro 6R4 Kevin McCann Subaru Impreza John Cross Ford Focus |

Oh you can possibly add Ian Rowlance to that in a Metro 6r4. John Haffey is buying a new car and will return probably with a european spec car in october

Helmut Holfeld and that ex-Haffey Escort are going to be quick, but I think it will Pat Dorans year.

In the autosport yesterday pat doran stated that this will probably be the last year in his ford rs200 before moving to a new car for 2004. It would be great to see him back in europe again.

Keep an eye on Mike Manning, although new to Supercars he's got excellant car control and we know the car is good too. Personally I think it will be a very close year with probably half the field capable of winning events. Reliability will be the key. Also with the super final back again some of the quick Modified runners might ruffle a few feathers.

One thing's for sure, I don't think it will be Tony Bell. He may be talented (???) but he was very rude and unpleasant to the Lydden Startline marshals on his last visit there - hence I've made a small play-dough model of his Toyota Corrolla and will be sticking pins into it on a regular basis during the forthcoming season (I know that it's not very grown up but it makes me feel sooooo much better !)

I agree with the comment of mike manning. Good driver good car and will be up there with the best. I think this year will say lots of different winners and will be tight all the way through. Tony Bell talented!! hohohoho He may be sort of quick if he new what the driving line was! His corolla was never a winner, but give him his due he did finish "top privateer" in the european championship two years ago, so he is capable. He is getting quicker as well. I hope he goes back to race in europe.

Mad Hats - I wonder if Tony or G-Tech ever found the Piston Broke calling card that was so deftly placed in the car the last time Tony came calling? Roll on the 15th - lets hope that someone has remembered to lengthen the cables to the jump start beams now that the bank has been moved back from the circuit!

Does anyone know if the forthcoming season is going to be televised on Sky Sports (or elsewhere)? - perhaps that 'Upsidedown Bug' bloke will know

Yes it is. Greenlight TV are still covering the season and it is hoped that this year it will be shown shortly after each round, not like last season when they left it to the end of the year.
Just how many calling cards do you lot leave in cars? |

Many thanks for that 'Upside down bug' bloke:
For the uninitiated amongst you - The calling cards are business cards thanking the visitor for 'spending time with us at the Piston Broke Public House Lydden'. This is a reference to the fictitious pub which exists at the Lydden Rallycross Startline. We hand these out to drivers who retire/crash/park/land at the startline during the racing. These are normally gratefully received except for the occasional very grumpy or rude driver who gets a card secreted in his car when he's not looking! (See previous postings) |

He doesn't - he just wears a sensible hat over the top to cover it up.
