Does anyone have pics of Jim Richards 1999 ASTC Volvo S40

I need some pics of this car to paint it on a radio control car body. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Well, the closest I can come with the photos on my HD atm is Bathurst 98... which was the start of 99 paintjob before they added the yellow.

I can probably get you more from 98, and I do have some late 99 ones around here somewhere, just it would take a whole heap of digging....

Try:-

http://wwwrsphysse.anu.edu.au/~amh110/volvo_racing.htm

If you try contacting Volvo head office in Australia or a Volvo delaer you might still be able to get one of the posters with pictures of two S40s and drivers Jim Richards and Mark Adderton (I wonder what he is doing these days)

I have a real nice poster of the Volvos from the year they won Bathurst. Got it signed by Jimmy Richards at the motor show but got him to "address" it to the name of my girlfriend at the time because she drove a Volvo...

Now she's gone and I got an excellent poster ruined because her name is still on it !

I've got a gazillion differnt Volvo posters, as I know a few Volvo freaks and visited the Shepherd workshop on odd occasions. The best one was the Bathurst 98 one with Jimbo, Rydell, Harvey and Nilsson autographs on it

Adrian

here is our version of the Volvo S40. It is a Protoform body and the photo was taken at Goodwood.

Looks like the blue and silver version is easy to find, but I'm after the one with yellow in it also.

Phil, I'm painting it on the protoform Volvo S60 body for my new Tamiya TA04 - PRO.

As I thought, his car was the same as the BTCC Volvos were.

That's the one racer69, thanks. Do you have anything showing the roof a bit clearer?

sorry, that is the only one i could find of the '99 car, the yellow stripe on the roof pretty much keeps going along the roof and gets a bit smaller towards the end of the roof.

Try www.volvo.com.au they might have some pics

I don't know how it goes yet, our club is having trouble with public liability insurance, we had it through an assosiation of hobbie clubs which decided to drop it, and now we are struggling to get any for ourselves.

It's getting out of hand isn't....the public liability insurance...now a few guys can't even get together to race R/C cars.

The most serious injury you could get from them is a bruised shin !

I got into racing R/C Cars earlier this year but found even that form of racing to expensive.

Anyway, good luck when you get the Volvo going !

Cheers, Buck.
