Finally, Ambrose wins the 2004 Series
Congratulations to Mr Ambrose and the SBR operation for winning the 2004 V8Supercar championship.
The driver did it in style, led from the front, built a very healthy lead, and was not challenged throughout the race. The crowd around the back of the SBR garage after the race was enormous, hoping to see their new champion Rusty was there signing autographs, icecream in his hand as he did so... Well done to all concerned Last edited by GTRMagic; 4 Dec 2004 at 21:55. |

Great result from both team and drivers.
Clearly the class act of the year, long may the reign of the blue oval continue. |

I know that it's early in his career to be making predictions, but it appears to me that Mr Ambrose is on his way to becoming one of the "greats" of Australian motor racing......other opinions please.

Was it not also the Stone Bros who engineered the DJR cars in 88/89?

No, I believe Mr Lowe did the engineering on the Sierras around that time. The Brothers Stone were with Miedecke Motorsport from memory.
Congratulations to Rusty for finishing 2nd in the series also. I spoke to a number of people from different camps who thought Mr Ingall didnt have a prayer at finishing 2nd.... Someone seemed to be very kind to the Caltexians this weekend |

SBR really deserved the 1-2 in the championship. They really are the class of the series & seem like a great bunch of blokes.

SBR 1-2 in the championship! Can't do much better than that. Ingall certainly did his part on behalf of the team to get them to the top of the pile for the year.
Can they do it agian next year? |

Congrats to Marcos Ambrose for going back to back. Also breaking another Seton record, the last time two Ford teammates finish 1-2 was Seton/Jones 1993.Last year Marcos smashed all the Seton records. But good on him.
Also congrats to Ingall and SBR for a truly dominating year. Rock on Ford |
