Hakkinen Finished
I feel sorry for Mika, what happened last race. But I feel that he is someone who has won by virtue of a quality team, managed by the hard headed Rom Dennis. Although Rom can't do media interviews to save himself, you have to admire the dedication, commitment and precision of the man.
I feel as though Hakkinen is a fairly genuine person, but ultimately he lacks the package to win without the backing of a top team. Last edited by Dooly Tilly; 3 May 2001 at 13:26. |

Welcome Dooly
Mika is extremely genuine and a total "gentlemen". He shows great sportsman ship. As far as winning by "virtue" of a quality team it takes a quality team and pilot to win. One can never underestimate Mika as Shuey often points out, he has won two WDC remember |

As can easily be illustrated by Jacques Villeneuve and Damon Hill, it requires a great team to win the WDC these days in F1.
I don't think that MH is washed up as a driver, but he is most likely not quite as driven as he was when he won his two WDC's. |

hes not down on moral, hes down on fitness. he himself stated that he would have retired last year, had he won the championship. that means he has already streched himself 1 year..and u see the results. i think he has it in Austria...im tipping him as a winner.

I second Dancing Machine's opinion, Mika is not fit to take a full season of races. May be he has to do the same thing he did last year, take a short vacation and comeback as the winner he is.

Seems to me Mika has changed his prioities. His family come first and racing second. Gone are the days of crying at the track.
