Konica V8 Lakeside - July 7 & 8
Well I'll be there and so will Crash Test of course, but who else is coming to see the best round of one of Australia's best series.
Will Wills show? Will Simpson show the Southerners his enormous local knowledge? Will WW make it to the grid, thereby doubling the crowd? Does anybody know what the support events are? |

Support classes- good one! I think every class has been knocked back, thus not much is going to happen between races!
I think Daewoos, and CDE GT Production will be definate starters, as well as the Porsche Cup. |

Sounds like a snoozefest between the Konica races, I mean have you seen anything more pathetic than the Daewoo series.
Are there any local supports on the program? |

Well you'd know better than me re: IPs. Sports Sedans- I think we've given up....we were always next on the list...
Who's left? Oh yeah, it's a National round of the Saloon Cars. They'll probably throw 6 Geminis or something out there... |

Improved Production are still up in the air, they don't know if they're on or not.

Improved Production are definitely off. They have been told they are class 6 and it is a 5 class program.
So we are left with Konica V8s, Porsche Cup, GT-Production, Daewoos and Saloon Cars. |

Perhaps they were, but they are dead boring when you're a specatator. There distinct lack of pace is clearly evident trackside. As for ABC passing XYZ, well who cares really? They're supposed to be a national series, but it's full of nobodys. I beleive the top guys in any state level series would blow their doors off.

For a national series, I've only ever seen them run at Wakefield. And they are very boring (which is something coming from me).

I'll be there - and I can't wait! Unfortunantly, though, I will only be there on raceday

Well I'll be there, but only on Sunday. I will actually have to pay to get in, for the first time in a very long while, mind you.
Most importantly of all, Crash do you know if WW will be there? If so, in what? |

Can you believe Lakeside want $35 for an adult ticket! Incredible!
Even more amazing, I'm actually going to pay it! |

Yeah, $35 is a bit steep, wasn't it. Especially considering it is only a junior category...

Then again, you get what you pay for. The V8s were fantastic, the Saloon Cars were tops, the Daewoos were close, albeit a little slow, the Porsches and GTP were a bit low on the numbers, but had their numbers. Heck, nearly 10,000 people turned up over the weekend which is pretty good for the Konica Series and for Lakeside.
