Superlite Roadster

Being a Cheaper alterantive than the Atom, at 25k I am wondering if a race class will be created for these Exoskeleton cars. The Atom factory will soon be located at VIR which will help with the potential of a Exoskeleton race class? I think the rolling kit will be coming out in April May in the USA

What's the fact that it has an exoskeleton got to do with it needing its own class?

Maybe the "class" would revolve around Track day events vs a sanctioned event first.

Here is another Exo car that is center drive and holds 3 people.

VSTORM

I thought the idea of those 'superlite' or 'exoskeleton' cars was to be as close to a racing car as possible, but for the road.

So actually racing them would be a bit of a pointless exercise, I would have thought. Particularly since they cost so much in the first place.

The cost can be as low as 20k if you go on the cheap. The Ariel Atom starts at 55k. The cost is relative to the buyer.

Why wouldn't they just go in the same class as Caterhams and Westfields?

My thought is the front engine cars "Cats" and the rear engine "Exo Cars" are two different type of cars. But when you look at this video between the two it looks close.
