Spyker heading for Le Mans!
The dutch company Spyker will race 2 cars at le Mans in 2002, the first car is ready and has been tested in the BMW windtunnel in Munich, it has a very low CW value of 0,276. www.spykercars.nl this month the production of Spyker road cars starts, 58 have already been sold. no the car will be run in the GT3 category and will be build by Cavelino Engineering, a dutch company that built the Mitsubishi Carisma that ran in holland and in the AA TOCA championship.

Great to see a grand old name return... I have a few pictures of old Spykers, but I guess nobody wants to see them... unfortunately I don't have the book that tells of their previous competition history.

One of my first toy cars was a Spyker from Corgi Toys, it was yellow with green seats that kept falling out. |

I'll wait a while... don't want to post any pictures unless there's a number of people want to see them.
Sure hope nobody complains about Steve's they're good... |

It's a nice looking car Steve. I'm looking forward to seeing it. As I said in the Elise thread though, how confident can they be of getting entries - if the ACO are up to their usual form, I bet they struggle to get 2! |

I am sure the Spyker people will want to qualify as well (are there any American races planned??), and if this car is half as fast as it looks, orange will be the colour of the season in LM-GT!! |

Well, I hope they (and others?) make it. The ACO should appreciate that they need new blood in all the categories.

it's funny that the team used to run Carismas because the Spyker looks to me like an FTO that has swallowed a large poison toad.

The Spyker was not designed by the team, though. I really like the car's looks. |

I like toads too!
I think it looks excellent, I just can't help thinking that if the Morgan shows up as well as the Elise GTP, we're in for a rather old-fashioned looking set of cars!(Not to mention all those 911s...). I can't wait! |
