Williams: Do they have a spare tub?
"A lot of things wrong with Williams" Lance Stroll.
http://www.f1reader.com/news/william...-stroll-193485 What is Williams end game? They sacked their best driver, found two pay drivers, and they now look destined to prop up the rear of the grid for 2018 on their Bahrain qualifying form. What is Williams end game? Lance Stroll seemed very unhappy when interviewed. Not with his own performances if you can call them that, but with the team and car.
With Force India being allegedly on the market, and of uncertain future, cue Force Canada rumours for 2019..... Not sure what contractual arrangement exists with Williams though so purely a conspiracy theory at this stage. |

Not sure what else could have been expected.
They have drivers with close to zero set up ability at this level, and a questionable tech director leading. |

Unfortunately this looked likely to happen as soon as they announced their driver line up, which is the worse one on the grid. They need to start thinking about getting a decent no.1 driver for next season to sit along side $troll or $irotken. That is just the start. There is obviously something wrong with the car itself as well.
It saddens me. |

A plan so cunning you could put a tail on it and call it a Williams.

The fact that they were made to look silly by Sauber says it all.... They've been in the doldums for a while now, but right now they looked positively beached......

Psst.
Wanna buy some plans for a car that looks like a walrus? Bloke down the pub told me it's *amazing*. |

Really don't think Williams will win a GP again, as much as that saddens me to say it :-(

TRH scoring good point and Sauber sneaking some point was disaster for Williams today, they would not have expected to be on zero and already 12 points behind TR.

I’m afraid to say Williams might just have gone the way of Tyrrell and Lotus, a once great team struggling to hold on. I’d love to be proved wrong, but it seems like that will be the way

They were 1.3s slower in Bahrain than they were last year. Every other team got quicker.

I don't think the drivers are the main problem, as much as I would love to have seen Kubica given the gig or think Massa would be a better bet than Sirotkin. Nonetheless, Williams are just over 2 seconds off the front-running pace on long runs and about half a second off Sauber, so it's the kind of difference that better drivers could make up to allow them to compete more with Sauber, but not enough to resolve their fundamental problems, whatever they are. In Friday's press conference, Claire Williams said the team knew what they were. Whether they can solve them is another matter. The car doesn't look horribly-handling or anything, does it? It's just slow.

Lowe is a great software and electronics guy. Not convinced if he's a match for Brawn in man management or Newey in car design though. Either needs a design genius at the helm or someone who can motivate and marshal the experts in each field.
