MG to boost numbers
Mg are planning a late deal to run 4 cars in the BTCC in 2002. The updated 2001 spec cars will be sold to a privateer team. WSR ae still going to have to build their own ZS cars for this years championship, and have been using the lola cars as a model to design the 2002 challengers on.

Do you mean there'll be 4 works cars, or just 2, with the two private ones?

The story I read said that MG had been approached by two privately funded drivers as opposed to a privateer team. This would make sense for WSR to run the cars in a egg sport type way.
My only concern would be to ensure that the drivers do in fact have enough funds to complete the season and a sizeable margin on top to cover all eventualities. Without wishing to be too cynical, racing drivers do tend to have eyes bigger than their pockets and don't always have the money when it comes down to it - I speak from direct experience of working with drivers! I am sure that MG will investigate this before commiting, as they don't want to end up in an embarrasing situation either. |

I believe one car has more or less got a driver and sponsors, but I would wait for official confirmation.

Guy, I have asked the forum hosts to look into this for you. Personally I feel it would be a great loss and a shame to lose you as a member of the forum.

I agree more people within the sport the better.
You have to learn in life to not always openly express youre disslike to someone, I for one should know. Just bite you tongue or your keyboard and kep your gob shut. |

I appreciate your comments Stephen, I have no problems with objective discussions I just feel the way this individual expressed himself was not in the correct manner of the forum. Lots happening at MG so very busy, again thanks for your support and to Eddie. Regards Guy |

I would like to say let's sort this out via PM but yours is switched off. I am sorry that you have taken offence to my comments but if you are prepared to stick your head above the parapet, you should expect to get it shot at from time to time. Not everybody on here is who they purport to be, perhaps me included, eh MGF...sorry Guy.
