Not until 25 road cars have been built, which seems no nearer at the moment.

And until someone wants to pay for the work to be finished on the car and for it to be homologated.

Wasn't there a thread about this the other week - if so I think it said that the car is half built and is sat in the Molser workshop

Why the 25 road car requirement? Weren't Saleen, who just delievered # 25 late last year I thought, and TVR, both allowed to run, albeit with bigger restrictors until production caught up?

25 Euro spec street cars are under construction now.
I think the reason is the ACO being a bit gun shy on granting approval for small manufacturers, since Saleen drug their feet for so long to get "25" street cars. Not to mention the rumors of car repainting/re-vin numbering, and rumor of the creation of a paper trail of cars, without actual cars. |

Yea, the Ferrari story. They did that with an earlier car too, but I don't recall the model now. Were there six or eight 512's that got shuffled about when the inspector was taken for drinks?

Oh, the 25 requirement-over what period of time? The Saleen was not one year, but more like three wasn't it?

Breckland Technologies, in Norfolk UK, are currently working on "productionising" the build of 25 road cars in conjunction with Mr Mosler & Martin Short at Rollcentre (the Euro-importer/distributor).
There have been historic queries over the technical specification : The ACO didn't like the windscreen aspect ratio (subsequently reduced now in the tech reg's) They also weren't willing to grant Mosler the same cylinder head dispensation as the C5R's at the time of the technical inspection, consequently the engine would not have produced sufficient power. |
