Help needed for Seto website!

Glenn Seton Racing

Many months ago I began the construction of a website designed to be a place detailing Seto's glories and heartbreaks. Being a Seto fan for a while now I've been a bit unhappy not being able to find a site dedicated for the blue hero and decided that I had enough!

I need help! Being a relativly new V8 fan (2000-today) I have extremely large gaps of missing information regarding Seto. I want to have a site with many views (critical or one eyed) on Seto's career. Every view will be appropriatly credited!

This is what I need:

- Snippets of Seton's career.
- Pictures of Seton and his cars pre 1997.
- Personal views of his abilities and your view on some of the events that shaped his life.
- Constructive critcism about this site!

Problems have been Telstra and uni study but a holiday will begin very soon and I want to have this site on track and accessible to all fans; Seton or V8.

E-mail me at: michael.bros@bigpond.com

OK. I will find any pre 1997 images of Glenn or any images of his cars.

That'd be awesome Greg.

I'll give it a whirl Peck.

Man I'm so html illiterate Geocities is a God send for my type, but unfortunatly the ads are a pain. I'm hoping of getting some support if the site proves to be a success.

I "might" be able to help... About 4-5 years back I use to have a screen saver that allowed you to upload your own pic's & I had 6-7 floppy disk full of Seto pic's... Seeing that is was about 4-5 years back I had this screen saver all pic's would be pre-that date, going back to the start of the V8 supercar (may have had a few pre V8supercar days)... I'm sure I kept then for a rainie day (I guess it is raining).. If I can find them (not promising anything), I can send them to you.. You can keep them as I don't use them for anything.. And knowing they will go to good use would be nice!!

But don't get to excited OzFord, just incase I can't find them!!!

Nice effort with the site . Can't help at the moment with pictures, but here is a guide with what to look for with regards to what cars he's raced (for the main page at least);

1983 - #55 Ford Capri at Bathurst
1984 - #55 (ATCC Lakeside) and #57 (AEC Oran Park) Ford Capri, #16 Nissan Exa
1986 - #15 Nissan Skyline (ATCC), #30 Nissan Skyline (Sandown & Bathurst)
1987 - #15 Nissan Skyline
1988 - #15 & #30 Nissan Skyline HR31
1989 - #30 Ford Sierra
1990 - #30 & #35 Ford Sierra
1991 - #30 Ford Sierra
1992 - #30 Ford Sierra
1993 - #30 Ford Falcon EB

two things regarding the season reviews;

- Lowdnes did a year in F3000, not F3
- It was more a case of Phillip Morris (Peter Jackson) and Alan Jones withdrawing from GSR's plans), than the other way round.

What race at Baskerville would this have been. The one mentioned in AMC a while back when tracking the #36 Roadways Commodore from 1984?

Old Nnelg Notes was on RPM this afternoon... amazing to see the 1987 Bathurst footage again... that Skyline was a crook handler, the suspension seemed to be loading up on correction, and over correction... amazing....

Nnelg needs a different car to take for a burn... maybe a Carrera Cup test or something to sharpen the skills

I saw that. The bit that got my attention was that once again TEN stretch the TV footage when showing footage owned by Channel 7. Presumebly this is to get rid of the 7 logo in the corner?

I thought the footage quality was pretty poor, of this bit, and some of the Peter Jackson Falcon stuff... from someone's home video collection perhaps??

Dosen't Ray Berghouse and Chevron Publishing 'own' all of the Ch 7 ATCC/Endurance Champs footage? This being the case, RPM would only need to pay Berghouse/Chevron for use of such footage.

AFAIK they own whats left of CH7 footage, dont forget all the footage that CH7 "lost", actually I think buried is a better term.

Some say it was buried
Some say it is now in Melbourne
Some say Chevron own it.

Who knows? Mike Raymond probably would.

A lot of the old TV footage is gone forever. I spoke with Former CAMS CEO Peter Hanson who was very keen to find all this footage as well as the hundreds of hours of Super8 and home video out there so it could be saved, copied and logged.
Such a project is huge and would require serious dollars and time to achive.
AFAIK Chevron bought the rights to whatever was left at Seven the rest is taped over, lost or still in the library but probably unlogged.
I'm told all Nine's Oran Park footage is gone as is Ten's early Phillip Island and Calder Drags stuff. The ABC still have some early F5000 stuff.

In the 'old' days it wasn't uncommon for television networks to 'tape-over' footage. For example the the BBC telecast of the 1970 Monaco Grand Prix (where Jochen Rindt inherited the win from Jack Brabham at the Gasworks hairpin on the last lap) was taped over with Top of the Pops!

'whatever was left' is still a fair bit. Their release 'Australian Touring Car Crashes 1985-1992' features Channel 7 footage of not only Touring Cars, but of the support races and NASCAR/AUSCAR dating back to 1986 (lets leave aside for a fact that Touring Car feature very little in the video, and 1985 doesn't feature at all!), so some good stuff had still survived at 7.
