Tempest Rally - Aldershot

Hi All

A bit of a last minute plea as we are up the creek without a paddle regarding manpower for the Ash and Warren Stages where we are in danger of not being able to run the stage with the levels we have.

If you are available for either stage can you please contact: Pete Henness for Ash peterhenness2@btinternet.com or Steve Castle ons.castle@virgin.net,

Both stages run twice and at present we have 75 entries... good weather is booked!

Regards

Barry

I take it you got hold of some marshalls, as I watched the stage running!

Some pictures for anyone interested:

At a guess I would say that was Warren Stage where you were then, seems they had quite a few marshals just turn up or let them know after the plea went out.
Nice pics hope you enjoyed the event.

The Focus was on Longmoor, the Impreza on Warren and the Peugeot and white Scoob were on Ash!

I really liked Longmoor (it was my first time spectating there this year); its just a pity its so far away from the other stages!

I didn't enjoy Warren quite as much this year as they had put a chicane in on the corner I watched from last year (the reasons for it were understandable though). Are the Warren and Longmoor stage directions reversed every year, or just as and when the organisers decide?

Longmoor has run the other way for X number of years, this year a little bit was added and the stage turned round.
Not sure why it ran the other way this year just for a change I think.
But there were a few issues with getting in as it was via the Guard Room, ie not letting marshals in to sign on at stage start out the back of the camp, also not letting rally cars in as they never had a pass!!
So see what happens next year!
As for being far away - hence the back to back stages, crews loved the stage but not so keen on the road miles between.
Warren, always used to run both ways on the same day then same way twice became favorite, think it's to do with cutting up the tracks, as in two runs same direction less cost reinstating afterwards!
But I used to help set up and run Warren back in the days when it was two stages as opposed to 1 & 2.

Ah, I see, thanks for the info! I've only been going to the Tempest for a couple of years and, in that time, I've only seen Warren running in one direction - I didn't know it used to be run both ways on the same day.

It may not be the biggest, but its great to have such a good rally so close to home and, in the few years I've been going, theres always been a good range of cars out on the stages - long may it continue!

That's just a drive around your back garden, you will need to get out and do something!!
Think ours is a week later this year because of Brands!

Right hand seat it's time you done something rather than just enjoy the ride.
There could be something small but different at Goodwood next year!!
They wouldn't let us do it this year!!
And no good asking cos I ain't going to tell you!!
