How Many Drivers Will Win Races in 2003?
I say 5-6.
Tracy and Bourdais already have won, and it's only matter of time before either Domingeuz, Jourdain, Servia or Junqueira break through for a win. Carpentier and Fernandez are outsiders to win races. |

With this season's weak field, the guys who've previously won races have no excuse for not following up, the only exception being Vasser who's team is struggling. Additionally, Jourdain should get another chance, Servia is looking good, and Tagliani is doing really well for the Rocketsports team. Manning looks a fair outside bet as well, he's been consistantly impressive and Walker have won races in the past. 8 seems a fair guess to me.

I think that.......
Carpentier Jourdain Dominguez Junquera will win a race or two. My money is now on Bourdais for the title. |

It's a tough call... no driver has really run away with any races this year, and with the exception of Brands they've had to fight for their win...
I like f3's list, I'd just add Junqueira. |

Tracy
Bourdais Junqueira (who will probably end up whining about margin of victory) Jourdain Servia Dominguez Of course given CART and Kniefel's great history of officiating they will probably find a way to hand Lavin a win. |

Probable:
Junqueira, Servia, Carpentier, Jourdain Possible: Fernandez, Dominguez, Tagliani, Manning, Vasser Outside/Remote chance: Haberfeld, Hunter-Reay, Moreno No chance (bar a possible repeat of the circumstances of Surfers Paradise 2002) : Lavin, Camathias, Yoong, Lemarie, Monteiro |

Three or four
Tracy will win a few more, Bourdais as well. Money and talent DQ most of the rest from having a shot. I see two others as having an excellent chance: Junqueira - NHR, he will win at least one. Carpentier - a Forsythe entry, has no excuse Tagliani, Fernandez (has the talent anyway), Servia and Jourdain probably have enough car and team to challenge, but I think it unlikely any of them will break through the NHR/Forsythe cars anytime soon. A winner from this list is still possible. Vasser, maybe still Moreno, and perhaps Manning have the talent, but not the equipment. Dominguez, Lavin, Yoong, Lemaire, Montiero, Camathais, Haberfeld, Hunter-Reay et al, are uh, ... lacking. Last edited by sgw2; 14 May 2003 at 20:28. |

Manning certainly has a decent shot and I wouldn't write off Yoong, he's improving and may be there later on in the season.
It may take some luck for some of the guys with lesser equipment to do it. I'd like Moreno to show some renewed form, but I don't think he has it anymore. |

Servia and Tag are definitely going to win this year. Patrick will win, Junqueira too and Jourdain. That's 7.

To bring back an old thread. So far:
Bourdais Tracy Fernandez Carpentier Jourdain Jr Have won races. Who else can break through? Junqueira will probably pick one up along the line, and Servia, Tagliani are half chances, with Manning and Domingeuz ready to pounce if the chance arises. |
