Water Pump Grease

I am trying to locate some Castrol 1610 Wtaer pump grease, Castrol's website does not give any stockists and having E-mailed them the stockists they gave me have all closed down.
Anyone have any ideas? location is preferably NW Surrey

I've tried to find this stuff in the past and failed as well.

Even if you did find some, you would probably have to buy a full tube which would last you a couple of lifetimes if all you want to do is lubricate the odd water pump now and then.

Standard silicone grease (which does the same job) is available, however, and if you want just a small quantity, buy a small tub from your local DIY or Plumbers Merchant. They sell it to lubricate the rubber gaskets/seals in plastic plumbing fittings to make them easier to fit together.

Thanks for that Steve, I'll try it. The drive shaft in my impeller broke and I found that it had a bearing out of a fifties Vauxhall instead of the bronze one, so I've got another impeller to put in.
It can't do much as it looks like it had been broken for sometime, probably before I brought it and I've never had overheating problems.

Found some at Autobits Farnham, at 11 Downing Street (his name wasn't Brown) Farnham 01252 714993, bit expensive though small pot a bit bigger than a cotton reel for £4.15, but it will probably last me out. On the label it says "Penrite Water Pump Grease identical to the original specification 1930 - 1940's grease. Will not clog.Extends grease lubricators, particularily those used prior to the 1930's"

If it's Penrite, you should be able to get it from any branch of the Moss group.
