Pete Howarth should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Cadwell Park 6th July

The BARC are having their first race meeting of the year at Cadwell Park on the Sunday 6th July. We could do with a few more marshals to join our friendly little team.
All are welcome, tea, coffee and biscuits at sign on.
Please contact me and I will sort out passes and instructions as required.

Pete, I have made this a 'hot topic' for you. All the best in recruiting marshals.

How bad are numbers of there for this one. Is it something about Cadwell that seems to keep marshals away.

Pete, I shall be there, already on the list though BARC so not boosting the numbers more though...

the BARC final instructions had 7 marshals listed on it,

I phoned Karen at BARC today, the meeting was going ahead,
It'll be my first time there too...

Only the fact it is in the middle of nowhere!
If you've never been go, it's great, you are close to the action and the circuit is something else.

Agreed, I used to spectate there years ago (20+) and thoroughly enjoyed it but have since moved.
Getting there will be OK as I'll camp overnight but its a four hour drive home!! Still we'll see in August as I'm going for the MG meeting. It'll be interesting to see if there has been any chances.

I would LOVE to go to Cadwell, I had volunteered for the 750 event this weekend but have since sent in my apologies.
The reason being that meetings there have been cancelled in the past due to marshal shortage (I Know I'm not helping here).
It's a long way to Cadwell from anywhere and when you have booked B&B etc you risk being out of pocket if the event is ultimately cancelled.
Also, the MST www has "Subject To Confirmation" alongside a few Cadwell dates.
Like I say, Cadwell is somewhere I wish to visit, but I cannot justify the journey and the rick of being out of pocket if the meeting does not go ahead.

Observer,

Seems like we will be wall to wall this weekend (famous last words!) but on the Club circuit we can guarantee fast and furious racing, are you sure we can't pursuade you to change your mind?

I am getting confused here "meetings at Cadwell cancelled" "several meetings at cadwell cancelled this year" So far we have only had to cancel ONE meeting due to lack of marshals. Comments like those above do not help in members attempts to run meetings at Cadwell.

Hi FW, thought I`d add in my comments. I can only assume that it is the location of Cadwell that appears to make it less desirable to marshal at...from my own experience over several meetings including tha last one when we thought Noah was going to take the chequered during tha PM thunderstorm, Cadwell is a cracking circuit with lots to offer in the way of variety and is usually manned by a fine body of men and women who make you very welcome...as I found out when we met at that meeting. I say to anyone who has not been, please go and help boost the numbers, you will have a great time at a great circuit with some damn good people...there...advert over!

Anyone not busy tomorrow could do a lot worse than join us for Caterhams at Cadwell. Now that has to be worth the trip!

(I could mention the free tea, coffee, friendly welcome, exciting circuit to marshal, etc., etc., but I won't).

I would like to thank all those who supported this meeting, Caterhams at Cadwell are always enjoyable.

From a marshal that won the beer in raffle donated by the drivers, thank you very much

Great meeting, huge thanks to all the Marshals, without whom etc. However one little gripe. Whoever was on the chequered at the finish should learn to count cars ! Having had a thoroughly dismal race with two spins I was dead last by 20 secs, the marshal had therefore given up and was walking away, think I saw a surprised look on his face as I crossed the line, so I never really took the chequered either. But much worse was that someone also decided to release the course car just as I passed the pit exit, luckily I wasn't in the normal position of tight to the pit wall, now maybe that was how it was timed, course car leaves pits as last car passes but it didn't look like that to me, it appeared to be in front of me and I had to avoid it. Also looked like the course car driver was surprised and jabbed the brakes.
