I'm going for the underdog here. Haas played a blinder with their early strategy call and Magnussen capitalised on it to score points in a car that otherwise would struggle for a top 15 finish! Grosjean was less strong later on but the team were flawless in providing their drivers with a chance to score points given the conditions and apparent inability of their car.

I am going Haas too. They shouldn't be scoring points!
Red Bull are under investigation for cheating so probably not worthy of the vote. |

RBR, for turning that car around.

Give it to Red Bull for their superb performance in fixing Max's car against all odds - turning a blind eye to "leaf blowing".....

Was going to give it to Haas until they got penalised but to be honest Mercedes were just in a different race, if Bottas had not messed up his start they would have been away and long gone after the first lap

I'm now voting for Haas. I see no problem with the team having input on this. https://www.autosport.com/f1/news/15...n-lap-guidance
Rule introduced as a result of fans not understanding the sport. |

Is there more to the rule then what is quoted in the article?
Otherwise, how is every other time a driver is told to box also not an infraction? Feel like something is missing here. |

Is it a leftover from the 2016 rule when the engineers weren't allowed to speak to drivers about the car or something?
Those days were insane. There were people who actually supported that! |

Yeah, there are claims the radio communication is limited from roll off for formation lap until the lights go out at the start. If the drivers had requested the tire change it was all kosher. They discussed it over the radio and then called both in. That's a no no.
It's a stupid extension of the rule limiting the teams monitoring launch on the formation lap and telling drivers what map and clutch bite point to use at the start. Feels like that needs to be amended quickly to allow tire choice in changing conditions that costs the driver their original starting position. But common sense rarely enters F1 rules |

Common sense goes out the window when the sport listens to the fans rather than just gets on with it.

Feel sorry for Haas. What a stupid decision. 'Rules is rules' eh? And we'll interpret them any which way we choose'. Driver aid? What utter nonsense.
I'll still give it to Haas. Even more so in the light of such a dumbass decision. |

Mercedes. The car and team are simply dominant.
Haas deserve credit for being agile enough to pull their drivers in for a tyre change before the race started. Unless there's something big that I missed, their penalty is just a stupid technicality and quite undeserved. On the other hand, Kvyat was asking on the radio to do the same but it didn't happen. Racing Point were also highly impressive, most especially in qually. If a team doesn't have the resources to design and build the best car, surely it is the logical option to copy the best car. |

Haas - even if they knew they were going to get the penalty it was still the right call to bring the cars in, that car has no business scoring points in a dry race where only 1 car retires.
Red Bull probably a close second I think - for getting Max's car sorted out. Everyone else was a bit crap. Mercedes utterly, utterly dominant car but somehow didn't get a 1-2, I'm still not sure how they managed that. Racing Point - turned a second row lockout (earned on pure pace) into an underwhelming race result. McLaren were pretty anonymous throughout, Ferrari continued to be dreadful, Renault - nope, can't remember them doing anything worthwhile, Alpha Tuari managed to be the only team to retire a car, Alfa may as well not have bothered turning up and Williams managed to end up with a car 5 laps down. |

And I see no issue in that personally. F1 teams have been doing it for as long as there's been F1....
