LISTER TO MISS DONINGTON FIA GT
For the first time since 1999 there will be no Lister Racing Storm at the FIA GT Donington race this weekend.
The reason is a symptom of everything that has happened so far this year; Laurence and the team want to race, we have the enthusiasm to show that the 2004 Storm GT with the right team and driver line-up can beat anything out there. However, this year, what with crashes, trips to the gravel, and fires we have been unable to show our form.
The Lister Racing Italy drivers were interested in competing at Donington but are now concentrating on the Italian Championship in which they are lying second – although they may appear, in a works Lister, in later FIA races.
Driver line-up is also vital in these 3 hour races – we tried hard to put together a suitable pairing but, at the last minute, all possibilities fell through.
So, two Lister Storms, race ready, will stay in the workshop this weekend ; the team have moved on to building up the new 2004 chassis.
