Helio on pole!
Helio claimed a vital pole position for Sunday's race on the street circuit in Detroit. Worth noting are strong performances from Bruno Junqueira and Patrick Carpentier. A little disappointing from Kenny Brack down in 10th. Paul Tracy had to qualify in his spare car after hitting the wall, and was a disappointing 23rd.

Zanardi had a time to get into the top five with two corners to go when Tagliani crashed and stopped the session. What a shame. Let's hope he can pass a few guys and get a good strategy going, and get some more points. Sad to hear Kanaan won't be racing due to his accident. Let's hope he gets better soon.

Tony has suffered a mild concussion after his off, but will be fine in time for Portland next week, according to cart.com.
Zanardi keeps having bad luck, doesn't he. He's getting quicker and quicker, and when he can make it all come together in both the qualifying and the race I expect to see him on the podium again fairly soon. Domaza, I didn't specially mention Dario because I find it hardly surprising that he's qualified 4th for a race in which he qualified 2nd and finished 4th last year, and won in 99. I think it's a good chance your wish could come true here. |
