Oulton Park, May 18th..
I'm still waiting for the final instructions and a timetable for this meeting, but the BARC website lists:
Europa Sports/Saloons, MGOC Class A, MGOC Class B&F, Toyo Tyres Mod Prod Saloons, BRSCC/BARC Single Seater Series, DDMC Sports/Saloons. I'll be competing in the MGOC Class B&F - Maestros and MGFs. I should have a slightly faster car than I did last time I was at the Island circuit, and there will be no electrical problems this time, and it won't need pushing up Hill Top Look out for number 10, mostly red, with yellow highlights (but not the Summit MG one..) |

18th is correct for the BARC,
11th is the FPA (Formula Palmer Audi x 2, Ford XR x 2, Sports 2000, VW Cup, Sports 2000 Pro Series ) |

I've always had the date as the 18th for MGOC. Not sure I can make it.

The MGOC event is definately the 18th. If it was the 11th, I'd have no car to do it with
I now have a vid camera, and a suitable mount, so I'll be filming the race from inside. Can't guarantee it'll be all that exciting (from my place on the grid), but at least you'll get to see it if you can't make it in person, Lorny |

Meanwhile, back on topic Here's a rough timetable:
Qualifying: Toyo Tyres Mod Prods: 8:45 MGOC Class A (MGB,MGA,Midgets): 9:05 Northern Sports & Saloons (A1,A2,E1,E2): 9:30 MGOC Class B&F (Maestros & MGFs): 9:55 Europa Engineering Sport/Saloons (née Ace vehicles): 10:15 Formula Hondas: 10:40 Northern Sports and Saloons (the rest): 11:00 Welsh Sports and Saloons: 11:25 Races, starting at 13:15: Mod Prods (10 laps) MGOC Class A (10 laps) Northern S&S [A1,A2,E1,E2] (15 mins + 1 lap) MGOC Class B&F (10 laps) Europa Eng. S&S (10 laps) Mod Prod Race Deux (10 laps) Formula Honda (10 laps) Northern S&S [B,C,D] (15 minutes + 1 lap) Welsh S&S (15 minutes + 1 lap) Look out for Andy Roberts in the Formula Hondas and David Yates (with an Escort) in the Europa Engineering S&S.. I now have 94bhp. I need some new jets in my carbs, and a cure for a slight misfire, before I can get more out of it, but that'll pedal me around Oulton for a bit |

There is no usual car marshalling place at Oulton Park you - are assigned your post, for the day, when you sign on.
We will, however, do our utmost to find you in the Paddock. |

See you there guys! I'll try and make sure I get over to say hi and to cheer you on Chris. It could well be my last Formula Honda race this season as well. The championship isn't going as I had hoped and one of the cars is just running away with it and is over a second a lap quicker than anyone else. I raced and beat him last year and know he wouldn't cheat but this year he has some new model £2000 wings which is supposed to make the difference. As I don't have £2k to chuck at the wings I am resigned to fighting for 2nd which is hard to swallow. We shall see though as at Croft on Saturday he broke down and I had the best race of my career with Mark and Tom. Should be a corker!
All the best for qualifying Chris just in case I don't get to the circuit in time for your session. Show em whos the boss!!! DavieR - Are you David Roper per chance |

I expect he is Andy....
Great race at Croft by the way, I was up on the Sunday to watch the NR show, wish I'd seen Saturdays race. Don't quit FH! I'm having great fun fighting at the back, it's the racing that makes it, although if it wasn't for Nigel I'd be 1 second closer to being on the pace. I've already had people giving me loads about being 1.7 seconds slower than him at Ty Croes, that was only 0.7 off 3rd, but Nigel, (and to a lesser extent Mark) are making some of us look silly with their quick laptimes. Still, 1.7 seconds off the outright circuit record? No bad for a heavyweight. Expecting more of the same at Oulton, those high noses are stupidly quick. Mr Corbyn may be getting some orders for those this year I expect. Wish I had my own car to spend the 2k on. |
