Looking to volunteer fire/rescue at 24H Le Mans
Hello all! I have managed to find course marshals forum here - as well as the ACO site and created an account, but figured I would ask the experts for some advice. I was redirected here from the Sportscar/GT Le Mans forum.
I am a member of the Watkins Glen Intl. Fire & Rescue team who would like to volunteer to work the 2018 24 Hours of Le Mans (prefer Fire/Rescue, but will be happy to corner work too!) I've worked IMSA, NASCAR, Indycar, etc at the Glen as both pit fire as well as tool/fire truck. I've been a firefighter for 20 years and am currently a Fire Chief in my home town. Curious if anyone had any points of contact or guidance? Thanks much! Russ |

I've done Le Mans for over 20 years and I can't say that I've ever heard of a foreigner on the intervention vehicles - it's all local Le Mans ACO lads - the firetrucks are all French pompiers too.
I guess corner worker is your path. Many Americans have done it over the years. this is from when somebody asked about 2017 I've no idea if he made it - he asked about a lot of places.. http://tentenths.com/forum/showthrea...highlight=mans Last edited by Bodysnatcher; 12 Aug 2017 at 21:36. |
