Drivers who are looking for their first Winston Cup win
The list is getting small these days for drivers who are still winless that are currently competing in the series full-time (lets say three races out of the possible six for now).
Here they are with their # of Winston Cup starts: 1) Rick Mast 340 2) Hut Stricklin 311 3) Kenny Wallace 247 4) Johnny Benson 203 5) Mike Skinner 173 6) Todd Bodine 148 7) Dave Blaney 81 8) Stacy Compton 72 9) Jeff Green 64 10) Buckshot Jones 52 11) Casey Atwood 44 12) Ryan Newman* 14 13) Jimmie Johnson* 9 14) Shawna Robinson* 5 Who will be the next driver to get their first win? I say Ryan Newman Last edited by Joe Fan; 26 Mar 2002 at 06:50. |

Of the drivers that are listed, I would have to say that either Ryan Newman or Jimmie Johnson will be next because they have the best equipment of the other drivers. Jimmie has a great cars & crew and Ryan has really fast cars, when looking at the "total package", I lean to JJ.

I think that Johnny Benson is the most overdue for a win
But, I too, will have to go with Newman or Johnson. And what about Atwood?, came damn close to winning at Homestead last year. Last edited by Raoul Duke; 26 Mar 2002 at 01:59. |

P.S. I have added each drivers career Winston Cup starts and then rearranged them by most starts without a win.

Would have thought skinner would have won by now, he has proven he can win...won a Daytona 125 qualifier & the two Japan exibition races.

Skinner came so close to winning at Atlanta in March of 2000, I remember clearly.
